How's this for a fuckin' sweet, sweet split? According to the Deathwish Inc. official website, the legendary bands will contribute two tracks each to the release, which will come out as both a 73 and a digital EP: Converge's side will consist of "No Light Escapes," the new song the band has been playing live [...]

Happy Valentine's Day! What did you do? Yeah, whatever. While most of the Thrash Hits squadron sat around on the sofa with no girls and even fewer friends, our intrepid Northern photographer, Ben Gibson popped down to Shepherd's Bush to see Pure Love play their first ever show at Bush Hall. You know Pure Love , right? It's the new, expressly non-hardcore band from Frank Carter (ex-Gallows) and Jim Carroll (Hope Conspiracy). It doesn't sound like Gallows. Frank doesn't even sound like he did in The Vulture from [...]
2011 has been a great year for fantastically heavy albums and God Is War by All Pigs Must Die is right up there. Members of Converge and The Hope Consipracy.
When I first heard Converge's touted masterpiece "Jane Doe" nearly 9 years ago, I didn't really appreciate it much. Sure, I dug a few songs off it (particularly "Homewrecker"), but the lyrics and the metal influences were lost on me. Recently I've given it another spin... and holy fuck. There are few bands that can blend thrashy, progressive metal with the straight up aggressiveness and
Massachusetts-based hardcore act All Pigs Must Die has signed to Southern Lord Records and will release their debut full-length through the label this summer. The band notably features members of Converge and The Hope Conspiracy but according to Southern Lord, "turn their more crust punk/d-beat-driven aggression outward" with this project. The group has some tour dates scattered over the next several weeks, including gigs at SXSW and on the east coast. Click below for the details.
Take a step back to 2002, where there was a 17 year old strapping young lad (ahem, yours truly) was a young punk rocker in New Jersey. At this point, I listened to a variety of punk bands, but the only hardcore I listened to was older stuff such as Bad Brains, 7 Seconds, and Minor Threat. I yearned for something a bit heavier, but since this was NJ we were talking about (screamo capital

by theseseans (NYC)This week, some of Austin's finest are swinging through the boroughs. Tonight Mammoth Grinder play The Charleston, while this Saturday Iron Age also play The Charleston. Whole lot'a rock goin' down there. Friday night at the Cake Shop is the Brooklyn Vegan sponsored hardcore show of the year. The Hope Conspiracy are probably my favorite active straight ahead hardcore band, and
Now ten years since originally forming, The Hope Conspiracy is still killing it. The band's latest release was this year's True Nihilist, a killer three-song EP showcasing the savage yet smart hardcore that we've come to expect from the band. No official word yet on when we'll see a proper (and overdue) full-length [...]
With Converge's critically acclaimed Axe To Fall still commanding the attention of the metallic hardcore faithful, this week's release of a new album from Belgium's Rise And Fall could naturally be overlooked. However, that would be to the detriment of those currently enjoying that higher-profile record. An intelligent, intense burst of recorded vehemence, [...]
by theseseans (NYC)The Hope Conspiracy are my automatic "bad mood" band. Frontman Kevin Baker is a visual and audible embodiment of anger, while his band matches his intensity with hardcore of the highest quality. After a brief hiatus The Hope Conspiracy returned in 2006 with Death Knows Your Name, a record that left the band's previous metalcore leanings for a more punk rock inspired attack.
Hello ladies and germs, lovely day out here in the Mid Willamette Valley. I trust you've been well. I tell you what, The Hope Conspiracy has been doing quite well for themselves and hardcore has taken them to London and it's been caught on tape for your listening pleasures. The best part of all is [...]
Deathwish Inc. continues its trend of being the only hardcore label worth paying attention to; this month they've teamed up with the Malfunction and Six Feet Under labels to bring their early 2009 sampler of the best active talent on their roster. In addition to tracks from recently released albums by Trap Them, Victims, Supermachiner, [...]

What's better than great music? Great music for free, of course! And we know you downloading motherfuckers agree with us, because you're always e-mailing us about leaks n' shit. So why not download something that will neither a) make you feel guilty for stealing nor b) possibly condemn you to a life of living in a [...]
Ok, I'll admit it. I have absolutely no patriotic pride, and instead of proud to be an American... I find myself often embarrassed. With that being said: Much to the US's stoked-ness (ok, minus Kentucky), Obama was elected president last week (as if you needed me to tell you that). However, we still need to fight to get our troops out of Iraq while Bush is still in office. Also on that

Deathwish has announced that The Hope Conspiracy have plans to record a new EP later this month with Converge guitarist & engineer of all things metal & hardcore, Kurt Ballou. The EP will be a follow-up to 2006's Death Knows Your Name (which, in this guy's opinion, was one of the better hardcore records to come out in the past few years). Deathwish will post more news regarding the EP as it happens. In the meantime, you can still stream a few songs from Death Knows Your [...]
