From one of our favorite LP's of 2012 here's the new clip from Ice Choir's sleek debut effort Afar . "Everything is Spoilt By Use" features Charlift's Caroline Polachek and is quite possibly the most tranquil thing you'll hear all day. Watch the visual in full below. Album is available now! Directed by: Caroline Polachek
3. Amerikanske The Ice Choir lyder til tider voldsomt meget [...]
Born in 1984 I can hardly remember anything about the 802s but I know I'll always be an 802s kid when it comes to my beginnings in music. It happened subconsciously, sitting in the back of my parents car in my inglorious child car seat and listening to all this overdramatised 802s tales. I've collected all of them on Spotify . So here it comes to The Ice Choir pulling me back out of reality into this great synthpop dream again. Please watch the video for " Everything Is Spoilt By Use ", taken from [...]
Possibly overlooked fave 012 LP is that of the ICE CHOIR 's, check out the video for their mellow new single EVERYTHING IS SPOILT BY USE , directed by one of the CHAIRLIFT members.
Ice Choir: Website / [...]

It's taken an entire year and thousands of albums to get here, but I've finally managed to compile the best records of 2012 and put them in an easy-to-reference list. The top 5 all had perfect scores, so choosing this year's best was harder than usual. In the end, there can only be 12 this year and moreover, one that surpasses all. As always, I want to personally congratulate all the artists mentioned here today and thank you for your tremendous talent and dedication to your craft– You guys are the best of the best and it was a pleasure [...]
Music videos are a rarely mentioned factor of many of the images that come to mind when we listen to music. In 2012, some of these videos were not only fantastic, they defied expectation in every regard. So whether you were thinking of ballerinas, birdmen, your computer coming to life or launching into space on a homemade spaceship or not, these artists have indelibly ingrained these images into our minds forever. These videos are as much pieces of art as the songs themselves and the best of the best of 2012: #10 Ski Lodge: I Would Die To [...]

Last Monday night I caught California indie-pop band Craft Spells at Glasslands in Williamsburg. The Justin Vallestero-fronted band was joined by Ice Choir (Underwater Peoples) with an appearance by Chairlift 's Caroline Polachek, and Brooklyn's Ski Lodge ( Dovecote ). Check out a round of up tunes from all three bands below!

With the cool folks over at Stereogum who've just published the list of their 40 favorite new bands, here's a little round up of the local talent to be found on the list, led on the NYC front - no surprise there - by Harlem's loudmouth Azaelia Banks. But what NEXT? Second in line comes new Brooklyn four-piece DIIV (formerly Dive) who after three singles and a full-length has found itself a decent crowd and a spot under the spotlight with its dream pop delights, followed by Ice Choir ' s punchy synthpop [...]
When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to select the rising bands which have connected them, someone wrote a long time ago. Or, something close to that. Here's what we're getting down to: It's that time of year when Stereogum's staff selects the 40 most exciting new* acts of 2012. Once again it's a diverse field, featuring glossy pop groups, gritty rockers with a name built on an acronym that begins with "Fuck it, Dawg," precocious teen rappers of several kinds, a death metal act from New England, and so forth. It's [...]

[ download ] With The Pains of Being Pure at Heart , Kurt Feldman mines the early 1990s sounds of shoegazing and indie-pop. On his new project, The Ice Choir , Feldman sets the wayback machine for a half-decade or so earlier and revisits the sounds of the mid-‘80s. If he has very many more projects up his sleeve, chances are he’ll end up in a doo-wop band at some point. Feldman’s interest in the ‘80s isn’t a huge surprise, given that prior to The Pains [...]

80s lovers Ice Choir already made it in our album reviews so we're excited about getting some visuals on that echoing vibe of theirs. Although " A Vision of Hell, 1996 " wasn't our favorite track, it does epitomize the band's groove, harking back to The Pet Shop Boys with softer vocals. Presenting us with what resembles an oldie computer program, with huge pixels and a mysterious stopwatch, the visuals are everything the music promised they would be - quirky, vintage, and psychedelic in a style MGMT brought back into the realm of hipsterdom a [...]
