Spring has sprung and I couldn't be happier to break out the summer dresses and stow away my winter coats. When the days get longer, and the sun gets hotter I immediately turn to this song to officially mark the changing season: "Fuzzy" by The Incredible Moses Leroy. It makes me think of all things summer like road trips, ice cream cones, hopscotch and jellies. The happy "la la la la" in the background, the carefree whistling, and the subtle crackling akin of a dusty mix tape make this song a summertime classic. Soak in [...]

I typically know within the first 15 seconds of a song whether or not I can roll with it. And a few days ago when we were hanging at my friend Jason's place prior to the Hamtramck Blowout, I heard this one while he was playing some 45s that he had packed away and recently found, and I liked it pretty much right off the bat. It turned out to be by The Incredible Moses Leroy , who is actually Californian Ron Fountenberry. The track "19833, coincidentally the year I was born, is [...]

Well, hello there! Today is Independence day for the U.S.A. and it is a hot, steamy one down here in the Florida peninsula. Most folks are celebrating the day outside - having barbeques, drinking lots of beer, shooting off fireworks and enjoying the surf and sun. Regarding myself, I am just hanging out hiding behind the computer screen as usual. No real plans to do anything special. I may go out tonite to watch the fireworks over the intracostal waterway but not sure yet if I will. So, it's just another day for me to struggle and muddle through. [...]

Image From Here Just a quick post, not feeling like writing a bunch of personal stuff today and worn out going through my emails for new music. So, the topic is Sunday, a day I should like but don't. Sundays and Mondays are the worst for me. If I had my way I would skip both, go from Saturday straight to Tuesday. Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest and peace, shit, even God took Sunday off. But for me it is a day of unrest, uneasiness and the [...]

I first encountered The Incredible Moses Leroy in my early internet days when I was searching for information about the band Fuzzy. I accidentally stumbled into a not entirely legal download of his song of that name. They say history repeats itself.... The Incredible Moses Leroy - Fuzzy mp3 (available for 7 days) I was seduced by three minutes of confusingly spiky lyrics disguised as beautiful fluff and, since The Incredible Moses Leroy isn't the kind of name you forget in a hurry, I remembered [...]
Was going to put some motivational stuff up here about how it's the weekend, get ready with these beats, etc. but then sweet beard of Zeus I found the best video ever on YouTube ever (said ever twice on purpose). Yelle - ACDG We like the guy on the left that just kind of stands there looking cool next to the E. Must post another one, but this time with more neon lollipops. [...]

Idaho- Down in the Waves A gorgeous meditation on taking risks and jumping into the water, which is perfect for the beginning of that time of year in which diving into a cold swimming pool sounds enticing. Faithful visitors to this blog may remember a time, nearly 350 days ago, when I attempted to post 60 songs throughout the course of November. All was going well and I was on track to complete my task when suddenly, in a post about Jenny Lewis's cover of the Travelling Wilburys' "Handle With Care," STEREOGUM linked to my site where the original was hosted. Literally thousands of people visited PIMPS OF GORE in a matter of hours, and my bandwidth for the month was kaput. I found it a little bit amusing that my site was crippled not [...]
First off, I'm pretty late with my story thing. I was sick/lazy and all that. Sorry! I woke up and it was just another day , or so I thought. I overslept for my first class of the year and managed to take the wrong turn and ended up in the auditorium. I BLAM!ed through the doors and the only person in there was a person, dressed in a giant cat costume. I wasn't sure what I was seeing and decided the Coke I was chugging must have been laced with acid [...]
THE SOFT LIGHTES "Incredible Moses Leroy Becomes The Soft.Lightes" Band releases debut album. Debut album makes serious waves. Despite the difficult name, "The Incredible Moses Leroy", people go bonkers over "Fuzzy", a loop-de-loop sampling (samples the Sandpipers!!) of California Casio soft pop rock. "Fuzzy" lands in a Volkswagen commercial. Girls run out to buy "Electric

Today is Independence day for the U.S.A. and it is a hot, steamy one down here in the Florida penisula. The Shuttle Discovery is due to launch (barring weather and foam insulation problems) and there will be fireworks tonight. The area I live in has an intra-coastal waterway (Banana River, Indian River) - in between the waterway and the ocean is where I live. The map shows it better than I can describe. Fireworks go off over the waterway and provide a very nice show for sure. I hope everyone has a good Fourth [...]
