Just get your favourite one and don't miss the next post! Oh by the way, just a little advice! STOP and I mean, please STOP using [...]

The Japanese Popstars are neither Japanese or pop stars but rather Irish and house/dance music wizards - who in fact are building a following that rivals that of a pop star. They recently released the video "Shells of Silver" featuring James Vincent McMorrow from their sophomore album Controlling Your Allegiance. The singles haunting melody paired with McMorrow's soulful, striking voice makes for an incredible song which pairs beautifully with the ominous video. Watch below:
We recently ran a feature on abnormal associations and few collaborations are more unexpected than arena ravers, such as The Japanese Popstars, jamming with a folky, such as James Vincent McMorrow. But it happened and 'Shells Of Silver' wass the outcome, a beautiful falsetto harmonised over ambient reverbed piano. 'Shells Of Silver' is the latest single off The Japanese Popsters' Controlling Your Allegience album. Their video for the song contains stirring scenes of lonely figures, urban desolation an artful street choreography.

After collaborating with The Streets and Chase & Status, it's time for 24-year-old Birmingham chanteuse Clare Maguire to team up with Loadstar who add some liquid funk magic to the emotionally charged The Shield And The Sword . Tantrum Desire 's take on ShockOne proves that when it comes to dance floor devastation, the London crew are a serious force to be reckoned with, while Arnaud Rebotini , aka the man behind Black Strobe, returns to action with some acid-influenced electro. As for the last track of the day, the name Robert Smith [...]

Designed as an hour of pure musical bliss, it's more like 40 to 45 minute of pretty good times. Ireland has done its share of presenting the world with energetic bands bent on bending a rule or two and this Northern Ireland troupe is certainly no exception. Controlling Your Allegiance, the Japanese Popstars' second full-length and first since 2008's We Just Are, is not so much an album that hangs together in the traditional sense as it is a series of songs that are designed to provide listeners with an hour of dance floor...

Dubliner James Vincent McMorrow has hit the ground running since his debut album "Early In The Morning" was released in Ireland last year. There was the Choice Music Prize nomination, and a triumphant return to this years Electric Picnic which saw him play two stunning sets. But all the work isn't done yet. James and his band are currently on tour in the US and Canada building up significant buzz along the way. I chatted to him this week ahead of his sold out Toronto show at El Mocambo. [...]

Oh Land - Electric Arena The body had now taken a two-day pounding and it's almost by accident we walk on site and into the Electric Arena where Oh Land is serving some morning pop. On stage is just Ms Øland and two guys either side on keys, for this, her first Irish gig. Initial thoughts are that she'll be too sparse and perhaps her pop, a bit too sacharine for minds occupied by thoughts of breakfast rolls and clean showers. Well, it takes about three minutes to blow that idea right out of the water. [...]
Tweet Click to purchase a digital download of Early in the Morning by James Vincent McMorrow Irish Singer/Songwriter Well, NPR said it best. "James Vincent McMorrow has one of the most arresting voices of any young singer you're likely to hear this year: He's got the heartbreaking falsetto of a Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) and the raspy soul of a Ray LaMontagne, in a way that sounds both
