If you're battling the crowds today and of a mind to give the gift of music, you're probably already aware that it's Back to Black Friday, brought to you by the folks behind spring's annual Record Store Day . (And if you're like us, you're patronizing your local, independent stores.) There are a slew of special releases out in conjunction with Back to Black Friday, many of them vinyl odds 'n sods geared to superfans and obsessives, but others — like the 7-inch singles sets from the Beatles, Bob Dylan, the Doors and [...]
For more than 20 years, the Jigsaw Seen has been making music on its own terms in Los Angeles, where "what's happening" fluctuates more radically than the stock market. To me, all the songs sound identical and then flutter into [...]
Sometimes things break. Sometimes things fall apart. Sometimes the songs we upload don't work. We do what we can. We carry on, fight the urge to succumb to frustration, and we walk through another day. The last post "Santa Kong!" is now up and running again. No idea what happened on that one. Peter, I owe you a coke. Or more songs. Actually, let's just do more songs, that sounds easier.

From Wikipedia: "The word geek is a slang term, noting individuals as "a peculiar or otherwise odd person, especially one who is perceived to be overly obsessed with one or more things including those of intellectuality, electronics, gaming, etc." Geek stuff seems to be 'in' right now, which is fine by me. I've been one for years, and a little social acceptance isn't a horrible thing, although I honestly don't care one way or the other. I'm also an unabashed Star Wars fan, and today's release of the Clone Wars is as good an excuse as any to [...]
