This week's tantalising offering to all you music lovers is an international one from New York producer/DJ duo The Knocks, with their personal take on French electropop act, M832s song 'Midnight City'. NY based producer/DJ duo The Knocks are back with their rendition of M83 's smash hit "Midnight City". Mandy Lee joins on vocals and collectively they absolutely kill this cover. With the level of success and coverage this record received last year, it's crazy to think that a rework could sound just as good if not better than the original, but these three just may have pulled it off.

The Knocks might be the only duo out there, that iw ould still have any faith giving the much overplayed "Midnight City" any new life. Well, they recruited singer Mandy lee, and they proved me right again. Giving the track a spanking new upbeat, female-sung feel, dare I say this rivals the original in catchiness. I'd estimate the over / under for number of remixes and mashups that feature M832s already classic anthem, "Midnight City," at about 80,000. I've heard so many forgettable, often crudely derivative attempts at harnessing the awesome in that song that I had written off the possibility of doing anything new with it. But the Knocks just released a cover, with Mandy Lee, and when the Knocks do, well, anything, you listen. This time it's worth it. M832s "Midnight City" was atop of many people's 2012 lists (including ours). It takes a total re-imaging from The Knocks and Mandy Lee for me to completely fall in love with the track all over again. The cover has something I didn't realize the original lacked, Mandy Lee's soulful/pationate voice. This song is going to be huge, share it before your friends do! This song has been on repeat on my itunes. The knocks are an extremely talented duo who picked up the talents of Mandy Lee to do a cover of Midnight City by M83 which was a successful track from last year. Definitely works well. Enjoy!
