Lisa Hannigan is Joanna Newsom meets Adele. Her voice has a signature breathiness that lends itself more to a controlled delivery than a sing-your-heart-out power belt, but what she lacks in vocal power, she makes up for with raw energy. "Knots" slowly builds into a clap your hands and dance sort of track, and it uses Lisa Hannigan's greatest asset to get there: her knack for conveying both unadulterated joy and pain.
