More quality Knuxness, this joint is like Outkast jamming with The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, when they had soul. 'Cappucino' has been mentioned here before, but this remix features Al and Krispy dropping some tight new ryhming over a new beat. mp3: the knux - cappucino (remix).
Sometimes I forget about searching out the gems in my own backyard. I met The Knux through a mutual friend at a downtown warehouse party and even though the party was filled with underaged hipsters, it didn't stop these hip-hop guys from dancing to 'Sandstorm' and 'Does It Offend You Yeah!'. They proceeded to tell me how their unique hip hop sound came about due to the fact that they listen to a little bit of everything, self-produce their own tracks and play their own instruments. A versatile, multi-influenced hip hop group? who would'a thought.... It's nice [...]

10. In conjunction with The Knux's performance, we will be serving fresh cappuccino's with mocha twists. 9. Because Nico the Beast , 1/2 of Clean Guns nearly beat up the fake Spiderman on Hollywood Blvd today. While the details of the altercation remain murky, the phrase, "I will destroy you, you 38 pound bag of bones!" was heard. 8. Because Wallpaper cannot possibly be as boring as actual wallpaper. The Knux - Capuccino (remix) If you didn't catch the original:
Dedicated to Kaitlin McGaw, for being an ally Ice Cube - Gangster Rap Made Me Do It (Feat Nas & Scarface) Good to see Veteran MC's get together like this. Although Ice Cube should be happy that the Gov't is blaming videogames for society's ill's. Fall Out Boy - Beat It (feat John Mayer on Solo) Pretty Straightfoward cover of Michael Jackson's "Beat It," and the way it should be. I'm glad they didn't add Gym Class Heroes for some corny candy rhymes. [...]

So I'll be covering SXSW next week for the LA Weekly. I have never been nor do I have any idea of what to expect. I'm pretty excited to go though. I've been asking around and have generally been met with the boiler-plate response that "SXSW is awesome." However, one friend did tell me to expect lots of free BBQ, free liquor, free indie rock and lots of loose women. Which by my guesstimation sounds eerily similar to heaven, or at the very least Freaknik for white people. The [...]

Over the last two weeks, "Cappuccino," the new cut from Interscope-signed, LA-by way of New Orleans duo, The Knux, has been in steady rotation at the Passion of the Weiss compound (eerily similar to Samson Simpson's lair but with less wheelchairs and more crossbows). I'm hoping to catch them at SXSW next week so hopefully I'll have more to say about them then. In the meantime, just trust me and download it. MP3: The Knux-"Cappuccino"
