April Fool's Day really does bore me to tears. The jokes are so weak and obvious most of the time that they really are pointless, although Avalanche's Withered Hand futon did make me laugh. After complaining last week about the continuing collapse of Edinburgh's venues and the harm that does to anyone involved in music in the city, this remarkable gig came as something of a pleasant surprise. The Fishcast is so called because Dolfinz are here recording for our split 123, and erm, well dolphins aren't fish are they, but umm... well it sounded better than The 'Aquatic mammals which look a bit like fish but aren'tcast. My birthday was last week. On Halloween to be exact. In recent years, Kasey and I had celebrated our birthdays with little getaways, leaving our foggy little city to visit other, sunnier locales.
