.......so it's been a while since the last mixtape was posted. Just 3 weeks short of 6 months to be precise. I hope this one can make up for it. The original idea for this mixtape was to make a glitch effort but once i had whittled down my tracklist it turned into a kinda best of 65daysofstatic and LOD with a bunch of Bring Me The Horizon remix versions and a few other tracks that just seemed to fit. I made it a while ago now, like March or something. My friends and a small gathering of [...]

And so we've ended yet another insanely busy week. (Thanks, Bonnaroo!) Of course, we like it that way because we work and you learn. Plus, it makes putting together this Friday Mixtape even more worthwhile - it's better than refreshing MySpace for 14 straight hours after all! So, here it is. May we present you with this week's mix of the best new singles, remixes, and covers, along with mp3s from some up-and-comers you just might want to check out. NEW Singles: "Good To Be" by Backyard Tire Fire [...]

I didn't know people still made mash-ups. I was never a huge fan of them, aside from the wonderful collection crafted by the Legion of Doom . Well earlier today ap.net pointed to one combining Brand New's "Sowing Season (Yeah)" with P.O.S.' "Optimist (We Are Not For Them)", courtesy of a man who goes by the name of Hawkins . Although it's nothing more than Jesse Lacey's vocals laid onto certain portions of "Optimist", it works out surprisingly well. How were these two kept apart for so long? Kudos sir, keep up the good work. [...]

Maybe We're Crazy The wife and I are going to see Gnarls Barkley in concert tonight. I am pretty geeked. I look forward to the costumes - who are they going to be tonight? I've been reading reviews, and they've all been positive. They have been opening the show with a cover of Duran Duran's Hungry Like The Wolf . All of this is good for me. I expect to be fully entertained, and I look forward to hearing the album recreated with a band and string [...]

Here's a few random things that I've found interesting lately in the music world: Ûž Local Colorado music writer/longtime Pearl Jam fan Stephen Saint has written about an excellent little piece of forgotten Southern California history involving himself and Eddie Vedder. " Eddie's Secret Show: A Pearl Jam Memoir " remembers shows that Saint's band (Club of Rome) played with Eddie and Bad Radio back in the early '90s. Coming from California myself, I loved a lot of the little [...]
