Stumbling upon an abandoned psychiatric hospital, artist David Maisel found himself fascinated by what he saw, finding a tragic beauty in the surroundings. If I was lazy (you know I am), I'd say he was like a extra prolific Polish David Axelrod and be completely wrong (I usually am). This is a cut from his essential Soul Impressions LP, there are too many great bits to sample and cut from this blaxploitation cop car chase funk.
Oh man, the endless treasures of vintage Library music. You have to discard some chaff, but the effort yields precious rewards. I used the new search by photo feature on Google Images and it's telling me this is Yale University's Bienecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
