Friends Tereu Tereu and The Light Footwork recently popped up an awesome EP Split CD simply called 'Split'...I think. Both have a similar sound, it's poppy fun and tunely percussive with some different instrumentation. TT are from DC-esque while Light Footwork are straight west coastin'. 4 piece Tereu Tereu like to use trumpets and the neat brass stuffs. Light Footwork's got the girl boy duo vocals that I love. It's a great EP. Get it here ! The Light Footwork - Rebellion Time Tereu Tereu - Don't [...]

The year is almost over, here are some releases to get you ready for the holiday deluge of music. 11/20: The big release last week was Nine Inch Nails ' remix of their latest CD featuring some great artists like The Faint , Ladytron and many others. There was also a great release from Six Organs of Admittance . In addition, there were a couple of regional releases. Nine Inch Nails Y34RX3R0R3MIX3D - " Capitol G (Streetlab Mix) [...]
It's been a while since I posted about The Light Footwork. It's been hours since I posted about Tereu Tereu. The two bands have a brand new, 6-song split EP which I've been listening to a lot over the last week or so. You should go buy it now. I've been going back and forth trying to decide which band's contributions are better than the other's. Let's just call this one a draw. The Light
It's been a long time since we heard from the Light Footwork. Now they're releasing a split with with Tereu, Tereu. It features three new Light Footwork tracks: an updated version of "Melville," as well as the as-yet-unheard "Early Worm" and "Rebellion Time." I've chosen to highlight "Rebellion Time," as ...
#9 Hello Saferide 'The Quiz' Download MP3 Website Myspace I only discovered Hello Saferide at the end of the year so I haven't had the chance to write a full post yet, but very few artists have grabbed my attention to the same degree in the past year. Hello Saferide is the solo project of Annika Norlin, a singer songwriter from Sweden. What appeals to me most is that each song has a ton of personality [...]
#19 Emmy The Great 'Paper Trails' Download MP3 Website Myspace I've really tried to get into the music of Emmy the Great, but I can't seem to do it. Maybe I've been hearing the wrong songs or something, but all of the tracks that I've picked up from various blogs haven't done very much for me. All except this one anyway. It's quite a feat for an artist I don't particularly like to get to [...]
Even though it's been over a year, it still feels like yesterday that I got an email about The Light Footwork's debut album, One State, Two State. They're already working on their follow-up and plan on hitting SXSW. But for those new to the band, here's a sampler. MP3: The Light ...
Missed The Light Footwork's performance on KZSU last Wednesday? That's OK, because I've got the MP3s. The only thing is, they play the album from start to finish; so if you love it, do purchase it. The Light Footwork - Live on KZSU 12.13.06 MP3: The Light Footwork 01 Pirate Karate MP3: The ...
Erstes Lied. Jetzt kommt erstmal Montag. Bleibt dran! mp3: the La's [...]

Another band getting a lot of buzz lately is California's The Light Footwork . Their album One State Two State was released early this year and they have recently started to preveiew some new songs. According to their press release, they are an indie band that use "vocal trade-offs, harmonies, powerful guitar riffs and eccentric lyrics." Give them a try and see what you think. The Light Footwork - The Art of Everyday Communication Part 1 and a new track.... [...]

Ah, The Light Footwork , definitely a great example of blog hype. It wasn't too long after Matt posted on this couple that just about every blog I have the pleasure of reading started praising these kids. The Light Footwork are a Beulah-esque indie-pop duo from Palo Alto, California. With soft, contrasting vocals and played down tunage, The Light Footwork is mezmerizing. Recently featured on my "Some Are Lovers..." Mix , The Light Footwork is, simply put, good stuff. So what have these Mellowing Marvins been up to? Well, their highly-acclaimed/blogged debut album One [...]

Must the sexes really battle? Has thought ever been given to what would happen if we were all to just forgo the barriers of gender, throw out the "anything you can do, I can do better" talk and work together as one? Well in the world of music, I found out that people just aren't that afraid to get...well, harmoniously sexed up. In fact the harmoniously sexed up music tends to eventually fall further into the "good stuff" category. Dual, juxtaposed vocals can grab attention by being soft, brash, quiet, loud, gentle, unkind, flowing and forced all at the same [...]
No, I didn't make it out to see Aberdeen play at midnight last night. No, I didn't make it to any shows. Straight from work, Chrissy picked me up and we did the regular I'm-moving-into-a-new-apartmen t-so-I-need-useless-crap shopping. We bought a painting from Bed, Bath, & Beyond that has a French chef on it. We have called him Maurice. He's my new friend. I promise that once I get settled in the new place, and am not exhausted 24/7, I will get back into my regularly scheduled show routine. There are some fun ones coming up, so consider this [...]
Anyone who has read YANP for a little while now is well aware of my love for The Light Footwork. In addition to having given us one of 2005's best albums in One State, Two State (which is now available through iTunes), the delightful duo of Jay and Becca just ...

When I first emailed The Light Footwork about doing an email interview for Another Form of Relief, they accepted but warned me that it might take them a while to get answers to me. This was back in may, proving they really weren't kidding. I tell you this not as a complaint or anything like that, but more because it was a pleasant surprise for me that they would still take the time to get this back to me all those months later when most would have just tossed it aside. I mean this isn't exactly an [...]
I always thought when I started this thing that I wouldn't bother with "lame" things like lists of the top ten of the year and stuff like that, but now that we've reached the halfway point of the year, I feel the need to look back over just some of the fantastic music I've discovered since I started the blog. With that in mind, I now present my top ten songs of the year so far. Obviously this list isn't perfect, and probably contains some 2005 songs too, but they are all ones that I've discovered this year. [...]
The Light Footwork is a group to watch according to many places across the web, and I agree. Their debut album "One State Two State," is being regarded as a great album. I've been listening to the free mp3's for and enjoy them all. I just feel light when I listen... sorry that wasn't funny. There are a few mp3's available.
