Filed under: Video of the Day Artist: Living Things Video: "Fake It Baby, Fake It (La Dame Nature)" Highlight: "In this new video we are bringing it back to the raw, primal, pre-Facebook idea of guys fighting each other over the same girl, and put it live in one room," singer Lillian Berlin tells Spinner. "Floria, the director, shot it with a 1950s influence at the our favorite haunt in downtown L.A., Clifton's Cafeteria." [...]
The 502s rockabilly aesthetic is always a good exploration, it was a fantastic era of rock and roll, that will always sound great to me, add in the punk elements, care free fuzz and buzz, and you've got something really attractive. This Living Things 2 sided single is really killing me. The St. Louis band really finds a way into my brain with their retro style, energy, and attitude. Also, check out the film noir style video they released for Fake It Baby, Fake it. Check out, Fake it Baby, Fake it (La Dame [...]

Upon watching Living Things' video for "Fake it Baby, Fake it (La Dame Nature)", you may ask yourself, 'Are they ever gonna get to the song?' Well, don't be so fast to poo poo the video's film noir aesthetic and the opportunity to see a switchblade comb once again. This video is sharp, and it should be considering it was shot at the famous Cliftons Cafeteria in downtown LA by Floria Sigismond. The same location was frequented by such legends as Jack Kerouc and Walt Disney, and once the actual song does kick in, it kicks the damn [...]

On Tuesday, May 8th, St. Louie's Living Things will be rolling out the madly infectious, Fake it Baby, Fake it (La Dame Nature) . The two-sided single is meant to whet yer whistle for the band's upcoming self-titled EP and, truth be told, I didn't realize how good this steamroller of a song was until I sang the hook during my entire walk home from the salt mines. Needless to say, I got a few askew looks. Be patient with the video, which features footage shot at Cliftons Cafeteria in downtown [...]

Living Things - Fake it Baby, Fake it (La Dame Nature) These Saint Louis rockers strip off the paint, sand down the planks and shed the gloss on this single. It's fast and furious and American. You're going to have to wait until the first minute-and-a-half to get to the tune, but you won't mind as you're watching this stylish noir video directed by Floria Sigismondi . Fittingly, it was "at the Cliftons Cafeteria in LA, which was frequented by Jack Kerouac, Walt Disney and Jerry Leiber, who found inspiration to write hits like 'Hound Dog' [...]

The Californian former nu-metal superstars have returned with 'Burn It Down' , the first track off their fifth album, Living Things . It's not metal. It's got synths and Chester Bennington's big vocals and sounds... nice. That's what Linkin Park are now: nice. You'll be pleased to know that Mike Shinoda's exemplary rapping does feature, though. Is that nice? Listen and decide for yourself. Then tell us what you think below! They've sold so many albums. It's ridiculous. Linkin Park still made the [...]

By Chris Gedos Races' much anticipated debut LP, Year of the Witch , is a loose concept album about a uniquely difficult break-up, was released Tuesday, March 27th via Frenchkiss Records, with Friday night's sold out show at the Echo serving as its official unveiling for their faithful Los Angeles following (which has witnessed Races' steady rise to the top of the indie rock buzz list). It's well deserved adulation; Races is a great live band. All six members are essential in creating a subtly [...]

If you saw the video for their single "Big Broom," you figured there might be balloons at Races' album-release party. The L.A. sextet did not disappoint Friday night at the Echo. To mark last week's release of their debut album "Year of the Witch" on Frenchkiss Records, the collective of Wade Ryff, Garth Herberg, Devon Lee, Breanna Wood, Oliver Hild and Lucas Ventura were in a festive mood for the sold-out show. Fans also got bewitching sets from Incan Abraham and Living Things to start the night. Photos by Carl Pocket
Living Things is the creation of three St. Louis brothers who have been playing and recording in their parents' basement since they were in elementary school. A band that's been called everything from punk to psychedelic to Buddy Holly-esque, Living Thing isn't interested in the typical, proven by the fact that the trio's first concert [...]
