Love Of Everything is the long-running solo project of Bobby Burg (Joan of Arc, Make Believe, Vacations) and his new 7", Sooner I Wish , was released this week through Polyvinyl Records . The new 7" features four songs in less than nine minutes and features Bobby's most personal lyrics, as the songs were written after his recent divorce from ex-LOE drummer Elisse. New drummer Matt Holland (Vacations, Air Waves) takes over to provide the backbone to Burg's stripped down lo-fi pop songs which were recorded live with a loop pedal to capture the energy of his unique live [...]

Love of Everything's new EP may be the product of an indie lifer, not to mention a recent divorcee, but Bobby Burg's latest project nevertheless bristles with adolescent energy. (And Revenge of the Nerds -y vocals.) "Three Way Answers" turns to the garage in the best possible way, spiking its sugar-rush melody with lo-fi edge and a break-up's bitterness. Love of Everything - "Three Way Answers": mp3 (The Sooner I Wish EP is out Aug. 2 on Polyvinyl. Pre-order now .)

Over the years I have seen many of my favorite bands live but there is a growing list of bands I want to see. With the Dream Concert feature, I usually list the set list and venue of my choice for one of my favorite bands that I have yet to experience live. My current selection is Love of Everything. I have been a fan since I reviewed their latest album this past April and I am happy that I don't have to wait long for the chance to see them live. On Thursday July 8th, Love of Everything is [...]
It's the first of the month, and that means it's time for another edition of "What's Your Muse?" The concept is simple: We ask a band/artist to choose a song that means the most to them. Then, they record and send us a video of themselves describing why they chose the song. Think of it like a collaborative video mixtape project. This week, Bobby Burg of Love of Everything and Joan of Arc (also a member of Make Believe and Vacations...sounds like he needs a vacation!) goes a step beyond [...]

Love of Everything - Best In Tensions MMM Love of Everything has been around for over a decade now, but has always really been the brainchild of one Bobby Burg (Joan of Arc, Vacations, Make Believe). Here, along with his wife Elisse La Roche, Love of Everything has made a simplistic yet interesting album with Best In Tensions . It's an endearing mix of indie rock, lo-fi, and folk. It's [...]

What do you get when you cross tennis balls, a half-pipe, and an endearingly catchy lo-fi garage rock-meets-folk song? You would end up with the creative video for Love of Everything's "Fear of Missing Out." It's a short but sweet tune that takes on a whole new character in this live setting. More than anything else though...this is fun . Check out the video and then hear the original version right below. Watch this video and other featured videos on the Mixtape Muse Vimeo Channel . I really don't want to spoil Bobby and Elise by posting this the same day they gave it to me, but I can't keep this video under wraps because it's just too good to keep from you, darling readers! You know how I often tell you to just click the video on and then go to another page and just listen to the song? DON'T DO THAT NOW. You have to see this one, ok? Love of Everything is a duo out of Chicago that's played with bands like No Age, Dutchess and the Duke, Chain and the [...]
Chicago lo-fi power duo Love of Everything play with some balls in their brand new video. Tennis balls rather. The clip features band mates Bobby Burg and Elisse La Roche performing their surf-soul track, "Fear of Missing Out", while forgoing drum sticks and using tennis balls as a percussion device. It's seriously funny, captivating and provocative all at the same time. A must watch, if you will. Anyway, Love of Everything blew the roof off Madison Avenue in the loop last Saturday when they rocked Reckless' downtown location for Record Store Day. Their Myspace page [...]

Bobby Burg is a busy man. He runs his own record label called 'Record Label' and plays or has played in many great Chicago bands such as Vacations, Make Believe, Chin Up Chin Up and Joan of Arc, and now his solo project, Love of Everything. Best in Tensions is the debut full-length album of Bobby's short and sweet, quirky bedroom pop songs and includes his former wife, Elisse La Roche on drums and guest appearances by Tim Kinsella from Joan of Arc among others. "Tin Can Phone" opens the album with stabs [...]

Shows at Death By Audio are always the most fun. Even when I'm alone on a rainy Monday, I don't feel out of place just plopping down on one of the couches and reading a book in between sets. Of course, seeing quality bands always makes for a good night, no matter what the circumstances. The evening began with Love of Everything , a Chicago twosome that's mainly the project of a man named Bobby Burg. The set was extremely stripped-down, and the songs are a lot more filled out on record, but his tunes were still filled with [...]

City Center is a band that I have been a fan of almost since they began. I've been following this project of Fred Thomas and Ryan Howard pretty closely not only because of their past projects, but more the fact that they have been posting free mp3s, live sets, and more on their blog non-stop since they started. As City Center they have released a handful of 73s, an LP, at least one tape, and now this beautiful 123 on Quite Scientific Records . This is one of the most [...]

Photo by Audrey Leon Spring has sprung. Not officially for another week, but it sure feels that way. Snow is gone, and heavy coats are no longer outdoor necessities. Yay! Don't have plans yet? Plenty of great shows this weekend including Pelican at the Beat Kitchen , Ted Leo and the Pharmacists at Bottom Lounge , the Hideout's SXSW send off and more! But first, a reminder that Loud Loop Radio will be back on the air tomorrow, Saturday, March 12, at [...]
