So long our friend...Farewell to Jay Reatard! I was right about to make a review of the new album from Vampire Weekend, when I stubbled upon the breaking news. Our beloved punker Jay Reatard (Jimmy Lee Lindsey Jr.) died in his sleep at around 3:30 a.m yesterday (Jan. 13) in his home at Memphis. I simply couldn't believe it. I personally loved his punchy punk tunes and free spirit. We even saw him live 2 years ago in Roskilde, where he rocked (at least for a couple of songs before he jumped into the crowd!).
