Amazing video for the single for Loyal Trooper 'The Doctor Share This:
Over the past few weeks I've written a lot about Loyal Trooper here at TGTF. Andy Walker is an incredibly talented guy who just seems to have a way with words and determination that if all is right with this world should get him places. His forthcoming single, The Doctor, is out tomorrow (Monday 8th June). It's a sad story of a difficult friendship, and one that is possibly his saddest song yet. It could easily soundtrack a break up montage in your favourite rom-com, with lyrics full of guilt following Andy [...]

The other week I told you about a TGTF favourite's new tour last week . Loyal Trooper has been doing the rounds of the UK, and we've been lucky enough to secure his personal tour diary - so settle back and enjoy a "warts and all" account of his week on the road. Leeds Cardigan Arms That was a long day. I left Northampton at 10am with the meanest hangover known to man and got to Leeds at half six in the evening. I missed the [...]
Sheffield Pomona A mission. A genuine mission. It wasn't that bad for the most part but after about seven hours of constantly being on National Express coaches you get a little tired of the whole experience. Sort of journey where you periodically get up to the toilets just for an excuse to stretch your legs! My [...]

Northampton Labour Club Oh dear lord. This hangover is going to take some shifting. Sambucca, did I drink Sambucca? Bad move Andy. BAD! And whiskey, I only drink whiskey when I've had too much [...]
Yes, yes, we love Loyal Trooper 's tunes to the point of being a bit creepy. But I just had to post this amazing video for his forthcoming single, The Doctor. It's a sad story of a difficult friendship, and the video is suitably sombre. Watch and marvel. Click here to view the embedded video.

Manchester Roadhouse I'm in a coffee shop on a particularly drizzly Manchester morning. It's 9.30am and I've had a pretty good day so far. I stayed with some friends in Stockport, which is about eight or [...]

Birmingham Yardbird I've had a really great night. Family added some solidity to the base of my life which is more like quicksand than dry land when I'm on tour. I didn't play that well [...]

Day 1: Bristol Mr Wolfs It's pissing it down. I have a great fear I may have waterlogged my laptop. Hmmm...not good. I'm currently sat in the cafe of the large Debenhams department store in [...]
We've been big supporters of Loyal Trooper here at TGTF for a while, with the great songs that Andy Walker creates being one of the highlights of our late 2008 discoveries. He's got a new single out on June 8th called The Doctor, another great tale of urban life from one of our favourite singer/songwriters, and we've got the B-side, a demo of a song called "Crystal Missile" which (as ever) sounds amazing. If you like this, make sure you buy the single - it'll soon become a favourite of your CD [...]
Nottingham Maze I write on the National Express coach to Peterborough from Nottiingham, I'm hung-over and listening to Grammatics. I'm hoping their outstanding debut album is going to soothe my head. Last night was good, the staff and general vibe of that place were both fantastic. It's not often I play places where a guy plays [...]

Starting at Bristol's Mr Wolfs on the 18th and finishing at London's Boogaloo on the 24th, the live dates will provide the public to hear tracks from Walker's EP 'One Day All This Will Work Out...'. The new single [...]

A couple of months ago we introduced you to Loyal Trooper , one of our favourite new artists for a while. Since we introduced him he's had coverage and airplay on the likes of Steve Lamacq and XFM, so he's certainly no flash in the pan. The singer/songwriter better known to friends and family as Andy Walker took some time out of his busy recording schedule to offer us some free MP3s along with sitting down for a bit of a chat. MP3: Nottingham Wasn't [...]

Just to get some background where are you from? I come from a little village called South Anston which is just outside of Sheffield in south Yorkshire. In South Anston there is a pub called Loyal Trooper, which is where my stage name is from. It's a pretty token sleepy northern family village. I now live in north London which isn't quite as dormant as my birthplace. How does your songwriting process go? It's mainly from experiencing a place, a point in time or someone else's company. However, [...]

Andy, AKA Loyal Trooper is another one of the artists who I'v taken an interest in. Listen to the mp3 after reading the interview. It's a formula which I am most welcome to and I think you can see how much effort has gone into Andy's promotion, not just from his answers to the questions posed by your favorite blog, but also self promoting his E.P. which is out now. Details of where to buy it are at the end of the feature. Enjoy the Q+A! So Andy, how did it all start? [...]

Loyal Trooper just released a new EP "One Day All This Will Work Out..." The EP was a brilliant slice of indie pop that will be stuck in your head for days.We are happy to have the title track from the record for download below. Mp3: Loyal Trooper - Nottingham Wasn't Built For Me

Nuevas canciones de The Loyal Trooper , el proyecto del londinense Andy Walker. El tema Nottingham Wasn't Built For Me pertenece a su nuevo Ep, autoeditado y titulado One Day All This Will Work Out . The Doctor es una de las canciones que está escribiendo en estos momentos para su álbum de debut. * The Loyal Trooper-Nottingham Wasn't Built For Me * The Loyal Trooper-The Doctor (demo)

Loyal Trooper are set to unleash their latest EP "One Day All This Will Work Out" onto the public. This Northern London group is a delightful mix of the sunshine pop of the Apples in Stereo with the mantra of Idlewild deep inside of the them. The first track here "Nottingham Wasn't Built For Me"is a sweeping little song that would sound perfect in front of a band traveling. This is where the Apples In Stereo reference works the best as because before the song is even over you find yourself just bopping along to the tune. The track just [...]
In case you hadn't noticed, our holiday slow-down at MML is well underway as this year's consumer duties approach the automatic sliding doors and and elderly greeter-types involved with last minute hunting/gathering. We've received plenty of gifts from previously featured musicians so far this season and have another treat to share with you today. Earlier this year, we featured London, UK

Busy times... I'm almost done with everything now, but I still have this feeling inside that "omg, there's so little time left, and so much to do...". I think I have a couple of presents to buy + a christmas tree, and that's it. Not much at all, so the feeling is totally irrational, but it's definitely there. How about you? Finished or not? Stressed or relaxed? I mentioned some bands giving away their stuff for free for the christmas season. Here's another one. The Silent Years has decided to be nice kids this year, and gives away [...]
