No band is ever truly forgotten these day, even if it was an also-ran post-punk act that had no distinctive sonic identity of its own. The Internet Age proves there's a fan for everything. In the 21st century, the advent of file-sharing and the mass diffusion of voices enabled by social media ranging from blogging to Twitter has turned every forgotten record, every half-remembered scene, and every dead-end genre strain into potential archeological dig sites, all waiting to be unearthed, reappraised, and loved by someone out there. Already due to be reevaluated as part of the 20-year nostalgia cycle, [...]
For almost 25 years, John Andrew Fredrick and a revolving cast of characters have been issuing records as the Black Watch. The California-based indie-rock institution is back with 11th album Led Zeppelin Five (Powertool), and it's the first LP to feature the rock-solid lineup of Fredrick, guitarist Steven Schayer (ex-Chills), bassist Chris Rackford and drummer [...]

You've got to be an avid reader in order to catch some of the more obscure artists worth your time. Luckily, I like to consider myself one such person, and going through the thorough review section in the most recent Big Takeover magazine, I stumbled onto The Black Watch . At first, references to The Lucy Show and jangling guitars grabbed hold of me, but once I got my hands on the record itself, everything else just fell into place. John Andrew Frederick writes lyrics the way [...]

The great thing about reading solid print magazines, like The Big Takeover , is that they always put so much work into their magazines. With that, you inevitably discover new things, much as I discovered Britain's The Lucy Show . While I'm not sure why they named their band after Lucille Ball, I do love the fact that they re-released Undone , which has loads of great songs. Take a trip down memory lane with me, and enjoy The Lucy Show [...]
UK-based singer/songwriter Robert Vandeven has just unveiled Lost Days , his first proper solo outing. As a teaser, the musician has offered a video for lead-off single "Ships," an electro-infused romp that calls the likes of IAMX, D.A.F., and the more atmospheric swagger of Massive Attack to mind. For those unaware, Vandeven's origins date back to late '80s new wave project The Lucy Show , who released two stellar records before disbanding. The band were cult favorites in both the US and UK, opening for the likes of R.E.M., Cocteau [...]
Oude wave. The Lucy Show - Land and the Life The Lucy Show - Melody

While tracking down another group I shall post later, I found myself at the Words on Music label website and was awfully glad I did. In fact, I?m not really sure if I have words sufficient, so I?ll let the music do the talking. Enjoy. The Lucy Show - Mania Land and the Life mp3 [...]

This female fronted 4 piece from London made hooky, melodic pop. Inbetweener is a fuzzy pop single with sing along choruses. Sleeper Smart Indolent Records (1995) mp3 Inbetweener This London band formed in London - 1984. Creating an "English Urban Folk Sound", mainly free guitars, they were often compared to the Irish Pogues.
