So we typically toss a video onto a post when highlighting a new band or a show preview or something and let you draw your own conclusion about it. Sometimes we throw a change-up... strike that - let's call it a round up. Most of these videos are of bands we have previously talked about here on Draw Us Lines, so we won't be telling you much about those bands themselves, just some musings that really aren't worth a damn. If a picture is worth 1000 words, then a video must be worth a million. Hold on to your hats! [...]
The new video for "Moodslayer" from The Luyas is described as "animated." While that technically may be true, it isn't quite what you think. It peels back what you'd traditionally think of as animated to reveal a slow progression of frames. It's more like a flipbook that you can view above.

The Luyas have released a pretty cool new animated video for their song "Moodslayer" from their album Too Beautiful To Work . Watch the video below. Read more »
Derrick Belcham es el tipo detras de los visuales que estan por ver aqui abajo en este nuevo video de The Luyas perteneciente a su mas reciente sencillo "Moodslayer". So...I suppose I'm a tad bit late to the year-end-best-of-lists party but oh well. Josh already offered up his favorite tracks in the year-end best-of playlist and, while our lists have a lot of crossover, I thought I'd offer up my favorite 50 tracks from the past year. I've struggled with the idea of trying to put a 'best-of' stamp on anything I listen to based solely on the fact that I'm not all that comfortable with the idea of ranking all the tracks I love. This is more a representation of all my favorite tracks from [...]

It was a sold out show at Mavericks on September 17, 2011. Playing at the show was The Dodos and The Luyas . Or as I like to called either The Duyas or The Lodos show. It's been awhile since The Luyas played in Ottawa. Last time was in December 2010 at Raw Sugar Cafe. So it has been a long time coming for them to be back in Ottawa. Last time I saw them [...]

Everybody steps into a show with certain expectations. He wants the music to remind him of a certain toe-tappin' time, and she wants to recall a fond certain somebody. Even if we don't often admit it, we all want the performance to mirror the CD from each riff to the final down beat. Usually, we audience members have to shrug and admit that these expectations are unrealistic. We are told to fork over our twelve dollars and just enjoy whatever is presented, however distorted or jumbled. Well, on Monday at Music Hall of Williamsburg , [...]
![YOUTH LAGOON, PETER BJORN AND JOHN, THE DODOS [SUGGESTED NYC CONCERTS]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3714994_lg.jpg)
I know I say this every week, but seriously everyone, this might be one of the best weeks of live music here in NYC in recent history. We have The Dodos , Cut Copy , Young Man , and Youth Lagoon in town plus multiple shows from Peter Bjorn and John . Enjoy the warm weather early in the week and then Fall-like conditions towards the weekend, and, of course, enjoy yourself some great live music! The Dodos , The Luyas @ Music Hall of [...]
If the ninety-six hour annoyance that was Tropical Storm Lee taught New Orleanians anything about ourselves, it's that we've come to expect the worst case scenario whenever mother nature even hints at showing the city a piece of her unforgiving wrath. Admittedly, that's a good thing: though many people probably have fond memories of bar hopping during Ida or partaking in hotel room revelry in the middle of Hurricane Andrew, experience has certainly worn down our wanton penchant for a good time at the expense of human safety. Nevertheless, Lee was such an unadulterated snooze for the most part that [...]
