Suicide Sundaes - Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen, Sunday is back. Greg is here to bring you the week's dirty servings, and some old favorites through a throwdown-throwback to simpler times. A time when bangers were big, remixes were bigger, the bassline bled, and we didn't care about anything as long as came in kicking and left screaming. This week is a very special week, as we have finally reached triple digits, post 100 of Suicide Sundaes is here. To help celebrate this milestone we are introducing a new element to the Suicide [...]
01101101 01110101 01110011 01101001 01100011. In the computer age, that series of numbers is what music has become: entire discographies in electronic form that can be critiqued, shared, and then deleted with just a few clicks. This disposable mentality is exacerbated within electronic dance music, where software like FruityLoops and Ableton enable masses of bedroom DJs to cut-and-paste genre du jour remixes, without any regard to context, album structure, or production nuisances. Gems surface, but the vast majority are lost in the constant flood of SoundCloud uploads. The San Francisco trio of Ben Swardlick, Eric Luttrell, and Andy [...]

Trance prodigy Matan Zohar 's latest single "The Sky" first premièred on the 419th instalment of Above & Beyond 's 'Trance Around the World' podcast series. Today, "The Sky' was officially released as a Beatport Exclusive by way of A&B 's renowned Anjunabeats label. Here's what they had to say about it: "With his recent "The Bipolar EP" picking up support from DJs as diverse as A Trak, Above & Beyond, Afrojack, Steve Aoki and Arty, the London sensation Mat Zo delivers another impressive release with the classy vocal track "The Sky"; featuring the [...]

The M Machine. On first impressions I thought that I would be dealing with an indie metal or rock ensemble, on the contrary, the San Francisco-based DJ trio are, lets say, an unclassifiable, genre bending indie-electronic group (electronica, house, trance, dubstep). Little is known about the M Machine, consisting of Ben Swardlick, Eric Luttrell and Andy Coenen, keeping a low profile. However, with the release of a few tracks namely, "Promise Me a Rose Garden/Glow," "No Fun Intended" and "Trafalgar" piquing the curiosity of Skrillex, eventually signing them to OWSLA, his indie dance label. Even though they've kept themselves on [...]

Playing some serious catch-up by posting The M Machine's - Metropolis Part I EP 10 days after its release, but I had to give it some love. Metropolis Part I truly pushes the boundries of what genres are considered to be in EDM today. Is it a meshing of Electro, Proggressive and Indie Dance or have The M Machine begun the process of creating an entirely new genre for the world of dance music? My opinion is simply that it's great music, the production quality and musicality are off the charts, which is refreshing in an industry where to many [...]

What's up everyone? It doesn't seem possible, but after finishing my last final exam at McGill yesterday I've finally made the big jump from "broke college kid" to "unemployed 20-something." In honor of that wonderful life transition, here are a few tracks to get you through the last weekend in April. Good luck to anyone out there still writing exams and enjoy the weekend. There has been quite some hype on the current release of 'The M Machine - Metropolis' . We have heard of the name briefly in 2011, so today we decided to grab this EP for our own self conclusion,- to finally put to rest if hype is well deserved . We don't know much about The M Machine, but what we do know is that they reside on Skrillex's label 'OWSLA' , so we are expecting a heavy dose of Bass and more Bass. As we hit play we stare at the cover art as [...]

![The M Machine – Metropolis Pt. I [album review]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4227173_lg.jpg)
The M Machine is a group not given to publicity, despite their presence on Skrillex's Owsla label; they've clearly kept themselves on the down-low until they were good and ready to emerge, album in hand and ready for the masses. The San Fran natives have delivered the ambitiously-titled Metropolis Pt. I, implying that this EP will be completed by another later in their careers. That being said, the last thing that Metropolis Pt. I needs is something to help it succeed, as it is a beautiful (half an?) album. The opening track, Immigrants, has an amazingly classic feel, [...]

I first Heard about M Machine last year and at the time the rumor was it was it was a project that Porter Robinson and Skrillex were working on. Sadly that rumor was wrong but, M Machine is still very good. This new album Metropolis PT.I is super sick. I think my favorite song off the ablum so far is "Black." The first time I heard it I wanted to get up and start dancing! I cant Leave you empty handed, here [...]
The weekend has come and gone, and now you're deep into your weekly grind. Never fear, Wobble Wednesday is back with more of your favorite face-melting bass drops to help you make the most of your mundane lifestyle. Today I'll be guiding you along through the many variations of bass music that we see these days, new and old. I wanted to turn the Wobble Wednesday feature into more than just a section for today's dubstep, so I decided it was only right to incorporate some drum & bass as well as an oldies section into the weekly feature. [...]

After a little hiatus in Vegas to see Justice (yes, it was awesome as usual) I'm back to bring you the good news tunes. The M Machine is finally back with some new music! They just released the first part of their album yesterday with 6 tracks that have a very broad range. A King Alone has a very deep and smooth feel as opposed to Immigrants which has a much harder club feel to it. Show Me A Rose Garden , which you might remember is something of a sequel [...]
The M Machine released their new EP, Metropolis Pt. I today, after it premiered yesterday on Rolling Stone . The trio have finally decided to lift the veil of mystery surrounding The M Machine, their sound, and the people behind it. They have made it their mission to develop a sound that sets them apart from the rest of the EDM world and they have done just that, catching the ear of none other than Skrillex . Metropolis Pt. I is a perfect example of the versatility that The M Machine bring with [...]

Falling under the Skrillex-affliated imprint OWSLA , emerging DIY outfit The M Machine release this 6-track composition titled Metroplis Pt. 1 . Aside from carrying a pretty cool and progressive experimental sound, these guys also apparently invent massive i-pad controlled lighting apparatuses for what must be a serious live set. Fun and up-beat sound at the least, futuristically slimy at the most - enjoy below and read more here .
The M Machine's new album (or half of an album), Metropolis Pt. 1, has been my most anticipated of the year so far. We finally get to hear what the group is all about. I wouldn't know how to describe the music at first listen - it's a mix of electro, rock, synth-pop, industrial, and a unique brand of hushed vocals with brooding synths. If you had asked me yesterday who my favorite founding member of OWSLA was (next to Skrilly), I would've said Porter Robinson. Not so anymore. I've only included my favorite track, [...]
If you aren't familiar with The M Machine, it's time for you to learn more about them because the trio of djs/producers have just unleashed their biggest release to date. Their debut EP "Metropolis Pt. 13 is out now on Skrillex's label OWSLA on Beatport and iTunes . I found the stream link yesterday, after having seen the teaser album artwork a couple weeks ago (their artwork is always so imagination inspiring). I was pretty excited about it, so my mentality upon opening the streaming page was quite enthusiastic. This article's about whether The M Machine [...]
