Up-and-coming electronic music producer XXYYXX drops a new track from what is going to be his next album, and he's offered up a minimal beat graced with some serenely beautiful synth tones. It's light, sweet, and making this next release worth anticipating. Enjoy!

I was sorry to read that Cornelius 'Nini' Harp, the lead singer of the original Marcels, died recently in suburban Pittsburgh. Harp's age wasn't given in obituaries, but he would have been in his seventies when he died, apparently of natural causes. Although his name might not be a familiar one to some music fans, there's little doubt that they will recall his group's 1961 megahit, "Blue Moon." Formed in the late 1950s, the Marcels (a name inspired by Harp's hairstyle) came together at a Pittsburgh high school during an era that was flooded with doo-wop [...]

How to even explain this track. I mean, I have never really heard anything like this. XXYYXX is only 16 years of age, but with producing skills that rival people twice his age, he has a bright future ahead of him. Whilst this isn't his most recent song, he recently released a montage music video [...]
So how many versions of this song (played at the Etihad Stadium before every home game) do you know...? » Supra - Blue Moon (Man City Version) Probably far less than you thought. Below are a good number I've collected and this is still the tip of the iceberg. There are still more out there. Before we begin though, one more Man City version - this to celebrate the FA Cup win [...]

Mote027 :: P.A.S - Function 4 (Chris Liebing + Marcel Dettmann Remixes + Original) by Mote-Evolver Luke Slater's coveted Planetary Assault Systems project continues its explorations into the outer limits with this first remixes package of the classic 'Function 4'. Episode 1 features interpretations by two of Germany's techno-leviathan’s; Chris Liebing and Marcel Dettmann. Originally released through Peacefrog in 2000, the tracky, tripping metallic thump of 'Function 4' is a great early example of Slater's pioneering droning, mesmerising musings as P.A.S. With its chattering [...]

Artwork by Jonas Eriksson [ Ostgut Ton ] Marcel Dettmann reawakened the relationship between industrial abstraction and techno on his steely yet gritty debut album, but his new EP Translation sees the German DJ/producer operating in a radically different sphere. Indeed, this creative restlessness is a common feature of his catalog so far: just as soon as he teases [...]
A very inspiring look inside the process of Marcel Dettmann's latest mix CD out soon on Music Man Records. He talks about Berlin, spending all of his money on records at Hard Wax, and the comparison of a sports personality and playing a 12 hour set at the legendary Berlin club, Berghain. The best thing is, is that what happens in Berghain, stays in Berghain. You can go there and completely freak out and not see pictures on the world wide web during the week...
We're back with a brand new N.E.W.S.tv episode. This time we went to visit Marcel Dettmann in Berlin. Why Marcel Dettmann? Well, because our label Music Man Records is proud to present the long awaited mix-cd from Berghain resident and Techno personality Dettmann, out on November 14th. Marcel showed us around the city and we had a nice chat about Berlin, his work and his music. Release date 'Conducted' 14th November 2011 Music by Petar Dundov , Steve Rachmad and Stephen Brown all released on Music Man http://www.musicmanrecords.net [...]
Berghain resident and techno overlord Dettmann to release first compilation mix since 2008...

Marcel Dettman - Planning Here's one from Marcel Dettman's Translation EP , a dark, kind of neurotic piece titled "Translation 23 put out today on Ostgut Ton. Pretty jarring.
The Polish singer-songwriter's new album finds her in artistic transition.

Anna Calvi Sitting round the backstage campfire listening to La Brass Banda’s tuba player running through a melancholy passage from Bach, we reflected on a Haldern that had an element of Sehnsucht as well as the usual industrial-strength dollops of hippy dippy Zuckerzeit . Maybe it was the weather, (glowering, leaden, ever-threatening), maybe it was the zealous and clearly alien security measures brought in, we believe, as a national response to the tragedy [...]
