Oh man - this is happening way too often to bands these days. The Menzingers were robbed while on tour in Manchester, England. Here's part of what Greg Barnett posted, and you can read the rest of his message at their Tumblr : "The driver side window was smashed out and 3 personal bags were stolen. Unfortunately my bag was stolen with all of our tour money inside it. To top it off, we brought around $2000 in US cash with us in case of an emergency. So let's see €5000 Euros, an iPad, 3 iPods, 3 [...]
We usually don't post about robberies in the main story section because - sadly - there are often just too many, but since so many of you keep submitting it, we'll post The Menzingers statement about the theft in Manchester, UK. We played a sold out show at The Moho last night in Manchester which ended up being the absolute best show of tour. It was one for the books. [After the show,] everything's going great. We walk around the block to [...]
Along with their previously announced Record Release shows, the Bouncing Souls have announced two weeks of US tour dates in support of their upcoming album, Comet . It's due out June 12, 2012 and is their first proper full length since 2006's The Gold Record . Since 2006, the band did release Ghosts on the Boardwalk which compiled a year's worth of monthly singles. Support on the tour will be provided by The Menzingers [...]
I haven't been able to stop listening to The Menzingers ' On the Impossible Past , which had left me with a deep, burning need to see the band live. My wish came true on Tuesday at the Marquis Theater when they came through with Cheap Girls and The Sidekicks , making up one hell of a show. I arrived just in time to see The Sidekicks tearing it up to a healthy crowd. I haven't spent a ton of time delving into The [...]
By Alex Brenner How many punk bands can say they are from Scranton, PA? Two A-Listers here can tell you not many. Although this band has been around since 2006, I really only heard their name while checking last year's Gaslight Anthem album American Slang . Their last release 20102s Chamberlain Waits was really a great introduction to the Menzinger's strong songwriting and ferocious energy. That album has been on a constant rotation for the last six months. So what is it about this band that sets [...]
My feelings about the end of March in the Denver area are conflicted: I don't quite know how I'm going to be standing at the end of it and there's a lot of "THIS IS GOING TO BE SO AWESOME" happening. I suppose spring has officially arrived in the music scene, even though we've still got a few months of snow in these parts. 23 March / Andrew Jackson Jihad / Marquis Theater / [ tickets ] Andrew Jackson Jihad were a huge part [...]
The Menzingers On The Impossible Past Epitaph Records [2012] Fire Note Says: The Menzingers play a style of punk rock that just never gets old! Album Review: Epitaph has released some great punk rock records over the years I believe that the third album from Philadelphia band The Menzingers will fit in nicely with that list. Fans will notice that this Epitaph debut supports a more focused [...]
This morning I began my day with a listen to The Menzinger's On the Impossible Past . As it turns out, punk rock is quite a good substitute for coffee. "Burn After Writing" kicks off the enthusiasm- it's pop punk at it's finest. The song is done in doubled, harmonized vocals which increases the intensity. Like most awesome people, I was obsessed with "The Obituaries" when it was released. I think the play count would probably be embarrassing. It made my expectations for the new record sky high [...]
Photo by Madeleine Lesperance Bred in Scranton, based in Philadelphia but truly born on the road, The Menzingers are a punk rock force of nature with chops you can only achieve by getting out there and performing whenever the opportunity greets you. The band had just returned from a three-week jaunt around the country when it recorded its Key Studio Session earlier this month; it was amped-up and razor-precise, kicking out most of the jams you hear below in a single take. The same tightness can be heard when you [...]
17 Yesterday, my dear friend frenemy Barlow sent me a link to a YouTube video of The Menzingers doing the song "Wagon Wheel" for this series. Neither of us can find the original source, by the way, so if any of you know, please tell me! Some extensive googling on the location of the above mentioned compilation led to me learning quite a bit about the track as well as finding some other great versions. Most importantly, there was this post [...]
So, today we're quite proud and excited to bring you a full album stream of the new record from our pals in The Menzingers . The Scranton-based band is going to release their Epitaph Records debut, On The Impossible Past next Tuesday and we've got the whole thing for you to stream below. The Menzingers - On The Impossible Past By Steve McGillivray Hailing from Scranton, Pennsylvania, The Menzingers are set to release their third album and first with Epitaph Records, On The Impossible Past . The PR describes them as having a sound that fans of Frank Turner, The Hold Steady and The Gaslight Anthem would find favourable. After listening to the album it's difficult to disagree with that. I'd even thrown in a little slice of Springsteen and a sprinkling of Green Day. [...]

The Menzingers
If you can't related to the lyrics 'I've been having a horrible time pulling myself together ' then The Menziger's latest release 'On The Impossible Past', may not be for you. Setting the tone for the entire album the anxious and gritty opener 'Good Things' show's The Menzinger's in deep and reflective territory. Tracks like 'Sculptors' and 'Vandals' remind us of the loose and gritty punk sound that previous albums portrayed so well and as the track fades it's easy to hope that [...]
