While I only have about 10 hours to decide on a Halloween costume, that doesn't mean I can't have a sweet soundtrack while I do it. Here are some of the finest tunes of the season! Your Costume The most important part of Halloween. Here they range from Ted "I'm a Ghost" ...

mp3: Great Ghosts Dear Phil, The winter is approaching here in Provo, I can tell because my feet are getting colder. I am thinking that I will need to put insulation or something on my windows (these are the consequences of living in a shack made of tin), and I am aware that I hardly have any warm clothing. I think I like to let your music surprise me. Although I consider myself a fan, and that everytime I have seen you play live has been a wonderful memorable [...]
It's something that affects everyone's life and even tortures those who can't get it. Luckily, there are some artists who spend a lot of time inducing sleep. Some artists would take such a statement as an insult, but bands like American Analog Set and His Name Is Alive provide the perfect landscape for your oh-so uninhibited dreams.

This technical stuff makes me a raging lunatic. This is the third time I´m writing this blog entry as this damn monzilla keeps deleting it when I press post. Well Ill just give it another go. This is the blog about the recording of my forthcoming album Street of dreams. Street of dreams is a song about the feeling of insecurity of not being good enough, but this album will not only be good enough, it will be a great album, full of emotion and thought. During the process I´ll post pics and sound samples from [...]

a record that has been apart of my favorites for the past few years is the glow pt. 2 by the microphones . sincerely, whenever its getting towards the mid-end of summer... i take this out and dream about the fall. something visually comes alive in the music .. new changes, new beginnings, all those different colors of leaves, cool-warm air breezes... and that good feeling like yr able to breathe and start all over once again. for those who need some good ole inspiration, this is truly a beautiful low-fi homemade masterpiece. [...]
I really liked my old header, but I was slowly get getting very bored with it, so over the next couple days I'll be trying out a few new ones. They might suck, they might work, we'll see. I'd really appreciate your thoughts, criticisms, compliments, suggestions, whatever. Because if you hate it, I'm not gonna leave it up. So yep, we'll see what happens. [MP3]: The Microphones :: I Am Bored
The Mount Eerie Preservation Society has posted a show a friend of mine recorded at UCLA back in 2003. For fans of Phil Elverum/The Microphones/Mount Eerie's work circa The Glow Pt. 2 , his live shows are fantastic - great songs, fun crowd interaction and no weirdo experimentation. Unfortunately, the live shows are the only place to hear gems like "As Good As It Got" - however, thanks to bootlegs like this one, the songs haven't been lost. This particular performance was warm, intimate, and overall one of the best shows I've ever attended. [...]

So the band formerly known as The Microphones are back with a new album, first one since Mount Eerie in 2003, which I sort of had mixed feelings about it didn't really have the lo-fi POP genius about it the way The Glow Pt. 2 did. I emphasize POP because The Glow Pt. 2 did contain some excellent pop songs until half way trough the album when it kind of just drones out, I really think Phil Elvrum, the mastermind behind it all, just gets bored with writing pop songs and really wants to [...]
