In today's Listomania, we unveil our favorite 10 bands who have a member that doesn't play or do anything, and that's no intended sleight to these critical players, whether they be hypemen, " vibes managers ," or just token old dudes to round out a musical family. Honorable mention goes out to Broken Social Scene's fourth guitar player, or to any band who has more guitarists than three - we've ran the numbers, and there's a huge marginal decline after that third guitarist. Anyway, check out the list and let us know who we might have missed in the comments.
The Boston ska legends return for a set of chilled-out versions of the template they used to achieve one-hit wonder success in the mid-90's. The bands that briefly rose to prominence in the early-to-mid-00's emo craze could do worse than follow the map set out by mid-90's ska hit-makers The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. The band never overstayed it's welcome after their brief flirtation with mainstream success (the No. 1 hit, "The Impression I Get", AKA the only ska song your grandma knows) but simply kept plugging away, played to whomever wanted to see them, following The Dropkick Murphys to...

It is the follow-up to Pin Points and Gin Joints which was released in 2009. Dropkick Murphys / Bosstones @ Fenway Park, September 8 Words and Photos : Andrew Bruss Even with acts like The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and Phish playing at Fenway Park, nobody with as much meaning to Red Sox Nation has played at "America's Most Beloved Ballpark" as Boston's own Dropkick Murphys . Last night (this morning?) on the Radio 1 Rock Show, Reading & Leeds Festivals confirmed the line-up for the Lock Up Stage - the two days of the festival where the third biggest stage is given over to punk. And despite us often joking among ourselves that it always seems to be 20 bands picked [...]
