Key Track: This Party The Story: The latest record " What We Need ", which is slated for release in October, was producer by Luc Tellier (The New Cities, The Mission District), Rob Freeman (Gym Class Heroes, Hit The Lights, Hidden In Plain View) and John Naclerio (My Chemical Romance, Brand New). Check out the album's first single, " This Party " which feels like Fallout Boy with more teeth. Contact: dustin@audiobloodmedia.com

Here are some photos from Franki Chan's appearance at the Lights Down Low event held at SOM Bar in San Francisco. French sensation Canblaster and Moombahton creator Dave Nada were also in attendance for what turned out to be one of the most fun events in recent memory. Special thanks to Corey Sizemore and Eli Glad for being wonderful hosts. We'll be back in San Francisco sooner than later. Enjoy! [...]
The Mission Map Project from Agency Charlie on Vimeo . Glad we have creative people in San Francisco who think outside the box. In a age where everything is digital, its people like Mike Giant who bring something new to the table. Feeling this!
San Francisco oozes Slow Food Farmer's Markets, punchy Pinots and sexed-up, slightly punk-ified, smoky Mission District clubs. Paris? Baguettes, financiers, macarons, heavily sauced meats (and eaters) and alcoholic tragic, doomed, impossibly talented solo crooners. New Orleans evokes gumbo, jambalaya and Cajun shrimp too spicy to swallow and too delicious to spit out and sizzling jazz too politically/philosophically/co mpositionally abstract to grasp, but too sonically toothsome to resist. (The city's relatively nascent hip-hop and heavy metal scenes are gaining national recognition are nothing to spit at either.) Imagine Paris sans [...]

Taken from their highly anticipated debut album, 'Youth Games' the infectious new single from Montreal rockers The Mission District is released December 7, 2009. "Just Don't Feel The Same" combines the bands love of 80's electro pop and brilliantly crafted lyrics to create a pop rock masterpiece! Watch "I Just Don't Feel The Same" video: Currently hard at work recording their debut album for Relentless / EMI Records, The Mission District are a [...]
I stumbled upon The Mission District via a post on bombe.tv 's blog (of all places) last week and I thought that it sounded familiar … and guess I was right, because after doing a little search on google and digging up old mp3s, I found out that The Mission District is basically the evolution of Full Count, which band members David Rancourt and Travis Barfoot were once part. The dinstinct sound still echoes through their songs (as the So Over You chorus definitely sounds like it's part of Full Count's All Over You [...]

Filed under: Video , Exclusive , Canada The teenage house party is a time-honoured tradition in music videos, from the Beastie Boys ' party-crashing classic '(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)' to the rose-coloured retro-rager in Smashing Pumpkins ' '1979.' But house parties aren't just about trashing the place and stolen make-out sessions in the bathroom. In the new video for the Mission District 's 'So Over You,' it's also about trashing the place and catching your date making out with someone [...]

Recording a cover of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance," one of the most popular and ubiquitous pop tracks of the last 12 months, is hardly an easy task. After performing the track during shows in Europe, Canadian power-pop outfit The Mission District was up for the the challenge and recorded a cover of the smash hit. They did a pretty nice job, giving the song a contemporary spin of their own with a tight arrangement and a little bit of AutoTune without straying too far from the original.p Whether you like it or not, it's always [...]
It seems like these Canadian rockers really love to get their songs remixed . This time around Federico Tevar , a.k.a Tevar, has sent us his latest remix of Canadian rockers The Mission District's track Heartbraker. Tevar began djing and producing in the middle of the 90's, and right now is the resident DJ at Deepsession in Rome. This year alone he has made official remixes for Coolio, Frank Sent Us and Mini K Bros, and more which have gotten play from some major players. This house remix he has done is catchy [...]
DJ /rupture on XLR8R TV! I've never paid much attention to the world of cumbia, but DJ /rupture drops some interesting knowledge regarding the complex bootleg system surrounding this modern latin flavor. The video is set in SF's Mission District! Hometown pride! Older Post: DJ /rupture - Cassava

Have you ever consistently stayed up far too late and consequently slept, for weeks at a time, until the late afternoon. For many of you this is probably known quite simply as the undergrad schedule. For anyone that's over twenty five this is probably known as the recipe for typical hangover symptoms without ever touching a drop of alcohol. Fortunately, regardless of your wealth or lack thereof of rem cycles, I have the perfect music for this Wednesday afternoon. The Mission District is a six piece band from the beautiful city of Montreal {easily one of my favorite [...]
(Day 2 begins here.) DAY 2 (continued) The talk with Ken Bethea took awhile so the guys went on without me. (I don't know how anyone survived before without texting capabilities at these things, it is essential.) As I mentioned before, sleep and food are kind of as-you-go at this thing, but I decided to take full advantage of a sushi bar that was near the 8 pm venue. I was still trying to
Now, where were we? Oh, yes, SXSW, which kicks off this week, if the above dates are correct. As mentioned previously, clicking the green artist names will take you to their SXSW webpage. Clicking the song titles should launch the songs. Previous SXSW posts can be found here. The bag is mixed today. After attempting to take a slight break from 24 HPP and adjust to a new, ridiculous schedule I've come to the conclusion that that was a bad idea. It's going to be more difficult to get updates here regularly but we choose to do these things because we love them. As such, why ignore the things you love because of the things one has to do? Outside of sheer survival (i.e. don't blog when you have to do other work) it's always a poor excuse. That said, there are so many new records [...]
