Mexican Fusion Fever Some may know I've been a huge fan of what we used to call fusion / crossover. It was in the last century! Recently I decided to make a mixtape of Fusion / Crossover tunes that have been rocking me. So I'm listening, searching in my discs for my little selecta. Molotov from Mexico Among all these were an album by Mexican band Molotov: ¿Donde jugarán las niñas? Back in 1997 they had a hit called Voto Latino [...]

The Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California kicks off today, so if you're headed there chances are you're stuck in traffic right now with thousands of other excited music fans. Fear not, the end result will be worth it. Coachella is known for packing in some huge names alongside some of the best up-and-coming artists, and this year is no exception. Paul McCartney, Morrissey , The Killers, M.I.A ., The Cure , My Bloody Valentine and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs should keep you plenty [...]

Happy Easter/Passover/3 Day Weekend for those of you with jobs. In one week the hot smelly shit-storm that is Coachella is going to begin. Every year the lineup comes out and everyone says "Oh, it's not that good this year" but then all those suckas end up going anyways. With the apparent exponential decline in quality this year's Coachella festival in Indio, CA is either going to suck balls or rock my fuckin socks off. I hope it does both so I can be that bastard that tweets on my fabulous twitter page every [...]

Words by Christopher Davies I guess it goes without saying that the people from Fierce Panda know their music. For Fierce Panda's 15th birthday party at Scala, a well thought out line-up was put on show, each complimenting each other while also individually bringing their own influences to the fray. First on the bill, The Molotov's, who draw comparisons with Vampire Weekend, albeit with a definite punk/ska tinge to their music. Rather than use more traditional Afro-Caribbean music as Vampire Weekend has, The Molotov's have opted for the more anglicised aspect of [...]

[Birthdays wishes go out to Robin Zander ... now, if making through this weekend's concert schedule were only a cheap trick:] Today: Chris Pierce [pictured] has been spreading his feel-good R&B around his native Los Angeles since he was a teenager, and the young soul man has amassed enough devotees that he has the headlining slot at the El Rey Theatre, where concert-goers will get first crack at buying his new album, "Chris Pierce Live at the Hotel Cafe," recorded last August at the Hollywood venue. ... The [...]

The Molotovs have become favorites hear at Dirty Sexy Music. I think it's safe to say that this is the most entertaining yet and actually had me laughing out loud. There distinctive indie-french bar room sound really hits the spot. Enjoy Here it is. I'll start with a boring question, how did it all start? We all started playing together about 8 years ago, mainly due to sheer boredom - like most bands I guess. Nirvana covers were our particular weakness - [...]

When I get emails that are impersonal and have been sent to 10000000 people without even dirtysexymusic being mentioned to make it personal, I rarely give it a second look, but if I receive a nice email, the chance is I'll take the time to listen to what has been recommended and get back as soon as I get the email. Even if they just change the name like Hi dirtysexymusic , was just wondering... More personal emails please! Anyway, I got a nice email from a chap who manages a band called The Molotovs, I checked out their [...]
1000, 1000 and more 1000 will be the discharges of adrenaline that come one after the other on the dance floor during the performance of the new release by Analytic Trail! Markantonio and Joseph Capriati, attack tested couple of this European label, leading to sign yet another triple. Pressing groove, tracks full of pathos spaced [...]
Este es probablemente el único mp3-blog que aún no postea Paper Planes de M.I.A. así que en esta ocasión encabezará el mShuffle número 4. Es, sin duda, de lo mejor del año que terminó hace 8 días. Paper Planes - M.I.A. Por? - Molotov The Underdog - Spoon y si, aunque me critiquen, voy a postear a Calle 13... Me Voy Pal Norte - Calle 13 (feat. Orishas) [...]

A partir de hoy estaremos posteando música aleatoria que nos gusta. Lo haremos bajo el subtitulo de mShuffle y trataremos que sea semanalmente a lo mucho. Shout Out Louds - Impossible Kings of Leon - Ragoo Albert Hammond, Jr - Scared The Killians - Embrace Yourself Molotov - Eternamiente Molotov (Acústica) [...]
Sad news from Mexico: Latin America's favorite mock-rock band Molotov is splitting. Officially the members couldn't agree anymore on the creative direction of the band, but there are rumors that Molotov owns their record label a lot of money, which could be another reason for the dissolution. Ten years ago Molotov started playing cafés in Mexico City. Their combination of irony, provocation,
