Langjährige Leser meines Blogs werden im Laufe der Zeit schon einige Male über meine Empfehlungen für die amerikanische Band The Monday Photo , eine der frühen Entdeckungen via Myspace, gestolpert sein. Ihr Song «Allies no tomorrow» war 2006 einer DER Hits des Jahres für mich. Seitdem warte ich darauf, dass die Jungs aus Florida ihr Versprechen, ihr Debütalbum aufzunehmen und zu veröffentlichen, wahr machen. Noch extremer als bei den Alben ist das "Problem" der vergessenen Beiträge natürlich bei den Einzelsongs . Ich weiß nicht, wie viele Lieder ich 2006 neu kennen gelernt habe, es waren sicherlich mindestens 2000, eher mehr. Deshalb ist es klar, dass die folgende Auflistung der meiner Meinung nach herausragenden Songs 2006 längst nicht vollständig ist - und die Reihenfolge ist oft auch nicht als in Stein gemeißelt zu betrachten.
