I constantly have to start over with this band. When I start to write about this album, I begin really strong and accurate, but then something in the music changes, and it completely disproves what I'm trying to say, so I'll stop trying to relate it to something and just describe it to the best of my ability. Black Emperor, but not in the way you'd expect. The [...]
When I meet Nick Gill in a back street in Aldgate, he's in remarkably fine form for someone who's been up ill the previous night. It's impressive enough that he's made it in for work and I would have understood if he'd cancelled, but spurred on by a love for ...

Trials is a record of heartbreak and torment. It all begins before you've even listened to the first track, with The Monroe Transfer's painstaking attention to detail embodied in some fine packaging. Natuurlijk is het wel de bedoeling mijn eigen draai hieraan te geven en wel middels een [...]

Following the death of lead singer Stefan Pruett 's brother and band member this past year, they launched the Planet Awesome Movement, which involves the free distribution of art (documented in their new "Souls" video), teen hotlines, a TV series (to be piloted by FOX in the Summer/Fall of '09) and a nationwide series of interactive community "Paint For Peace" art installations/performances. Their live shows are a one-of-a-kind experience. They've bubble-wrapped audiences, started games of [...]
