DATELINE: BOSTON - To understand what I now know about The Motion Sick , it helps to appreciate a good storytelling and a great pop song. The band's songs grow stronger track and track, fed by strong lyrics and interesting imagery. This is excellent news for wordsmiths and poets - who have been all but abandoned by musicians these days. The band's brand new second album is titled, "The Truth Will Catch You, Just Wait..." is in stores and available online. There is more to this music than [...]

Don't be surprised if you start hearing about The Motion Sick quite a bit in the future. Following up their critically acclaimed debut album Her Brilliant Fifteen in 2006, the Boston based band kicked off 2008 with the release of The Truth Will Catch You, Just Wait... - The Motion Sick have a pleasing, catchy sound accompanied [...]
The Motion Sick return, but opt for camp and boyish charm instead of improving on their last, quite solid record.

I've been listening to The Motion Sick 's The truth will catch you, just wait... for a few weeks now trying to come up with a way to describe what it sounds like. I'm not sure I'm going to get it exactly right but I'm going to give it a shot. It's a somewhat disorienting blend of soaring 60's garage rock and 80's new wave alternative music all wound together by the lyrics and vocals of Mike Epstein, who sounds kind of like a cross between Larry Kirwan of Black 47 [...]
Since it's New Year's Day, there are not many new albums released today. Most of the record stores are closed anyway. Once the stores open for the first time of the year, here are some new releases to look for. Having a good Monday is crucial to the rest of the week's success - let's face it, a bad start can be like a tiny snowball just waiting for someone to push it down the hill. The Motion Sick have a new LP slated to release shortly after the holidays and have packed it with charming melodies that'll make Monday all the more merry. The young band from Boston are still coasting under the radar, although they were named "Band of the Month" in an issue of Spin for their debut LP last year. [...]

Welcome to the second post in my new Sunday Spotlight series. Last week, we took a peek into Marco Mahler 's mind as he revealed the inner trappings of his song Fields . In case you weren't around for it, the purpose of the series is to pry open artists mind to see what makes them really tick. I'll be asking artists whose music I'm particularly enjoying to open up about a track from their latest effort. This week, the kind lads from The Motion Sick have agreed [...]
This picture rocks. Thank you, dear visitors, for not insisting on long expositions. You don't know how much that means to me. To tell you would require a long exposition, which we do not want. So what shall we do? Maybe. . .some music? Eux Autres - When I'm Up mp3 The Motion Sick - 30 Lives mp3Canadians - 15th of August mp3 Let's Go Sailing - Sideways (remix) mp3 The Red Sun Band - Like an
