While northern New Jersey folks are inching down the parkway in search of crowded beaches, dingy nightclubs and exorbitantly-priced rental homes, the few, the proud, will be attending the Terror , G ravemaker , Naysayer , Foundation , Backtrack and Suburban Scum show at Dingbatz on Friday, June 2nd at 6PM. Terror just recently let Metalsucks.com peep their new track, "Stick Tight" off of their newest album, "Keepers of the Faith", which is set to drop on September 14th. Foundation, who just recently played the Warren American [...]
Earlier this week, the organizers behind Virginia's annual United Blood festival announced a preliminary list of the bands scheduled to perform at its fourth installment, which runs once again at Alleykatz in Richmond from March 26th through the 27th. For lovers of hardcore young and old, the lineup should seem damn impressive. In no apparent [...]
Syracuse-based act Forfeit kicked off 2010 in their hometown as part of a New Years Day hardcore matinee, which included their Reaper Records' peers Death Threat alongside other notable bands such as Down To Nothing. And from the looks of it, they wont be slowing down for the next two months. The band [...]
Released earlier this year by Reaper Records, "No Remorse" is the debut 7" from Richmond, VA's Naysayer, offering up six tracks/13 minutes of pissed off, no bullshit metallic hardcore with loads of badass midpaced grooves and a really bitter sneer to the vocals that helps give the band a slightly ...

The Naysayer: My Liver Needs a Lawyer [ Purchase ] The Naysayer is the music of Anna Padgett. She makes folk/country music and most of her work has a great sense of humor, as seen in this track which is take on all the classic country songs about drinking problems.
Anna Padgett is a Brooklynite, but her songs sound like they were written and recorded in a prairie homestead. Such is the quiet wonder of the Naysayer, consisting of Padgett and a rotating cast of friends including labelmate Kendall Jane Meade of Mascott, Karla Schikele of Ida, and Tara Jane O'Neill. Their involvement in past Naysayer albums should give you an idea of the territory we're in: gently reassuring, stripped-down folk-rock. The title track from Smoke Reality (which was, in fact, recorded in the woods of Oregon) is full of texture, from Padgett's soothing vocals to [...]

The Naysayer is Anna Padgett. It had originally started as a two-woman team of singer-songwriting and guitar goodness but it has now become soley Anna's domain. I learned about her when searching for information about Mascott . I ended up owning 2 of The Naysayer's albums before any of Mascott's, Anna just pulled me in. I was drawn in by a song of hers called "On Fire" from her album " Kitten Time "...which, I highly recommend. As you can imagine by the album title Anna has a sense of humor and writes songs about things that might [...]
