Most of these originals need no introduction, but when put into the hands of Norwich Brit, Brett Ewels (aka Louis La Roche ) - those originals get transformed into world class dancefloor diamonds. Louis La Roche is quite simply a DJ, a producer and a thoughtful remixer who prides himself on reinterpreting originals past their point of normal origin. Polishing up some of the greats (e.g. Basement Jaxx, The Chemical Brothers, Michael Jackson, Fred Falke, Spiller and Fatboy Slim) on his voyage of bootleg country, Louis La Roche’s style and technique has gained the attention [...]

Noisettes @ Salon / 23.02.2013 İstanbul’a ikinci ziyaretini First Sensations City Beats konserleri kapsamında gerçekleştirdi Noisettes. Freshtival’da hayran kaldığım Shingai Shoniwa’yı çok daha yakından görmek iyi geldi. Sahnede müthiş bir enerjiye sahip. Salon’a ayaklarımı sürüyerek, yorgunluk ve moralsizlikle gitmiştim. Shoniwa parmağını bana doğrultup gülümseyerek poz verdiğinde ne yorgunluk kaldı ne can sıkıntısı. Muhtemelen salondaki herkes benim gibi hissetmiştir. Beni kendime getirdiği için bütün gece içimden sarıldım ona. > Fotoğrafların tamamı Flickr’da.

Hitchcock is the brainchild of Matt Droog and Andy Huckvale. Matt established himself as a producer collaborating with Ocean Colour Scene, The Noisettes, One Night Only, Boy Kill Boy and The Enemy. Meanwhile Andy toured America with his former band, Apartment 26, and performed programming duties alongside producers such as Charlie Clouser (Nine Inch Nails) and Tchad Blake (Peter Gabriel). Now it's time for them to take the centre stage as Hitchcock. Their debut album 'Running From The Sane' was released last year. This is their new single 'Katie' set for release on 18th February. It's a swirling, hypnotic blast of beats [...]
It's like discovering money down the back of the sofa. Well, not money - more like a discarded condom. The Stereophonics are still a going concern to such an extent that they've hired a new drummer : STEREOPHONICS frontman KELLY JONES says anyone can join the band – so long as they make a mean beans on toast. The group recently had a shake-up with JAMIE MORRISON, ex drummer with NOISETTES, replacing JAVIER WEYLER. To be fair to Kelly Jones, he didn't say that anyone can join the band if they can make beans on [...]

British rock duo Noisettes recorded a cover of James Brown's "Living In America" a while ago to give away as a free download, which was sadly overlooked, as was their lovely new album "Contact" . It's a fantastically funky effort, with an amazing pure-joy section that only starts at 2:25. And yes, there's some serious cowbell action going on here too, which is always a good thing. I found Shinghai Shinowa to be a total star and one of the most fascinating frontwomen the UK has offered in recent years. I hope a tour on [...]

Louis La Roche has been a groovy producer remixing a lot of good stuff and this remix happens to be an extended mix of the Noisettes’ tune “Winner.” Noisettes - Winner (Louis La Roche Extended Mix)

Noisettes ' previous album Wild Young Hearts was one hell of a great record, one of the few where all songs are great (you know, that thing that happens about 5% of the time). I'm pretty happy their new record Contact , which was released in late August, somehow follows this previously established path of goodness. While I think the first single was not a good choice to get people excited ( That Girl , while the anthemic Winner was just made available for [...]

English rock duo The Noisettes released their third album Contact earlier this week and I pretty much can't stop listening to it. Probably my favorite track off this record is I Want U Back . Featuring space age rhythm and beats, a catchy chorus and soundtracked by Shingai Shoniwa's nasally yet fantastic voice, this song just sounds like a hit. I don't want to make lazy comparisons but it definitely reminds me a bit of Janelle Monae. The post Song of the Day/Week: The Noisettes - I Want [...]

Like many good things in life, nightwaves must come to an end. Summer is just about over and our balmy nights will soon turn to cold nights by the fire. The Ferrari Testarossa needs to be retired for the winter, the white linen suit needs to be dry cleaned and stored and the tanning oil needs to be forgotten. Nevertheless, the spirit of the perfect summer night can always be preserved and resurrected. That is the beauty of music. When a nightwave was playing during a perfect summer moment, that moment was captured. It fused with the song making the [...]

New La Roche remix. Not a lot to say. You fuckers wore me out. From the little that I've heard, I like Noisettes. And I'll just always post new Louis. Even if he remixed just a whole bunch of differently pitched fart sounds, I'd post it. Try me, La Roche.
