One new album I've been enjoying came out last month from Eamon McGrath and is titled, Young Canadians . The record was recorded at Vancouver's JC/DC Studios with John Collins (New Pornographers) and Dave Carswell (Destroyer). All in all, Young Canadians brings honest and durable songwriting portioned with rustic folkiness and otherwise noisier abodes to keep the listener well aware. Take in the song below for first hand insight. listen to "Great Lakes" from Young Canadians http://whitewhale.ca [...]

Of all the music sites on the web there are only a few that I regularly check out. Dirty Laundry is one of them. In case you aren't aware, these folks get some of the better artists out there and interview them in a laundromat (this week they have Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth fame). Now, Dirty Laundry is asking for some help to keep things going and they've set up a Kickstarter campaign to do just that. Donations start at five dollars and there are many great rewards which you can check out at the link below. [...]

I don't really play with toys too much anymore, though I might have to schedule some time for The Lee Scratch Perry vinyl figure. This is a Japanese import from PRESSPOP limited to 1000 units and approved by Lee a.k.a. The Upsetter: the father of reggae and dub music. Designed by Sofboy comic creator, Archer Prewitt, this figure of Lee 'Scratch' Perry has adjustable arms and head and comes with accessories such as cloth hat, gold bracelet, and gold necklace with star charm. The figure also boasts details such as lighter being held in hand with [...]
Note!: All the pictures were very big, and I'm not good enough at the internet (yet!) to figure out how to comfortably re-size them, so I've created a handy Flickr page for them. I'm so impressed with my initiative and ability to conquer the strange world of Flickr. I think our account is in Dutch [...]

With gas and other increasingly high energy prices, not to mention all the other costs (food, etc...) affected by such, many are struggling to make ends meet. Not a good thing, though that is obvious. With that in mind Il Gato plans to record the follow-up to their debut studio album, All these Slippery Things , at Tiny Telephone Studios in San Francisco in June of 2012. They are low on funding and can use your help if you have it and feel the notion. Head over to Kickstarter [...]
