Like your music hard, raw and loud? You've come to the right place. Say hello to Campaign, 5 guys straight out of Georgia, Atlanta. They are Josh Kimmel (Vocals), York Henderson (Guitar, Vocals), Russell Blair (Bass), Drew Bacon (Guitar, Vocals) and Alan Hamilton (Drums) and they've released their 3rd EP using the title of a 1988 movie as its name. "Beetlejuice" was about an obnoxious bio-exorcist (superbly played by Michael Keaton) that had to be summoned by calling his name 3 times. When you did call him you got the kind of guy that would crash [...]

The Old Haunts , one of the more intriguing bands to come out of Olympia in recent years, have broken up . Not necessarily the most popular outfit around, their raw, swamp-rock punk-boogie garnered my attention a few years back, leading to an exciting show-viewing at the Tractor (or was it the Croc?), quickly followed by the climactic, all-immortalizing CD purchase transaction. . I must say, I thought they had some momentum. After releasing three fairly successful albums on venerable Olympian label [...]

Speaking of catchy punkish stuff coming off the West Coast ( The Muslims are from San Diego), let's look north. I am talking about Olympia, Wa. (of course??), home of The Old Haunts . I don't remember when I first thought to post this, but it was a while ago (the album came out this past April). Anyways, if you don't know it, love it... "Maybe it's time. Maybe it's payday. Time for a payday. Turn this show into that Jimmy Parton show." -- Tom, considering monetizing his real radio empire "Don't do this to me, ABBA box. Just go! Go! Come back. No, go! Just go. I cannot look at you." Tom, struggling to give his blue buddy the (temporary) boot "More pizza, slave!" -- Problem children, demanding additional substenance at a birthday bash "A lot of marble. A lot of marble went [...]
MP3: Old Haunts - "Poisonous Times" from Poisonous Times, out now on KRS. Sort of Pixies-ish, sort of Richard Hellish....

This intrepid writer busted his foot while at this show. Jeff the Taper nearly killed himself by a bludgeoning to the head. But you know what? Totally worth it. Monday night, Bmore again proved its mettle. This show was a veritable who's who of Baltimore (and even some DC) regional booty-movers-and-floor-shakers : Emily Rabbit, Dave Nada, Cullen Stalin, Scottie B, Blaqstarr, Rye Rye, it just goes on and on. Check after the jump for full review, more pics, and an Old Haunts track. [...]
