Montreal producer Jacques Greene with a mix for British boutique oki-ni that's pure bliss. "This mix is a collection of music from the worlds of pop, house, techno, and some of the weird modern cross-sections between all three. Most of the music in this mix relies on deft synth programming to establish mood, energy, direction. The mix also oscillates from slow numbers to no-holds-barred rave moments, hopefully with a common thread to hold it all together." OSCILLATE by Jacques Greene [...]
OSCILLATE by Jacques Greene by Oki-Ni on Mixcloud Montreal producer Jacques Greene belongs to that group of smart young talents who are picking up contemporary music by the ankles and shaking it until all the good stuff falls out. His tracks are favourites on the oki-ni stereo, embodying the current new wave of R&B-inflected house, and we are genuinely excited to have one of his mixes as part of our MIX SERIES. Read what Jacques Greene has to say about his [...]

Artist : North Atlantic Oscillation Title : Fog Electric Label : Kscope Release Date : 30th April BUY IT Review by Caitlin Gwynn A north Atlantic oscillation is apparently a large-scale pattern of natural climate variability that impacts on the north Atlantic region. Thanks, Wikipedia. North Atlantic Oscillation is also the name of a band [...]

Sub Rosa está por lanzar una compilación de Don Preston , uno de los músicos más trascendentes e innovadores de nuestra era, conocido por muchos como el padre de los sintetizadores modernos. Preston fue tecladista de Mothers of Invention (banda de apoyo de Frank Zappa ) participando en álbumes como Uncle Meat, We're Only In it For The Money y Waka/Jawaka . Durante 1967, Preston grabó su primer material solista llamado Electronic , utilizando osciladores, filtros y sintetizadores caseros. Al poco tiempo se hizo amigo de otro ícono [...]
Katzenwaffe and Oscillators are a duo from Sweden and Denmark, they met by chance on twitter after they both responded to re-tweet from software company Propellerhead - the same software they both use to make music. 'Epochalypse' is not your ordinary EP, but a mini album of sorts. For us, it has concept album written all over it: a clear beginning, middle and end. Sonically it's straight out of the 2007-world of glitchy, trashy electro a la Justice and SebastiAn - but with a coherent, overarching narrative split between 5 movements to give it a film [...]

Are you prepared to answer the question "Grandpa, what was a rock band?" "Uh it was kind of like four dudes with girl's hair jumping around under hot lights" isn't a good answer. A better one: "A rock band was The Men." Not only will this answer confuse little Billy enough that he'll wander away to play with his jetpack, but it also gets to a harder truth about The Men. So many of the rock groups of the last forty years have participated in bringing The Men to us today that it's hard to pick one and say that [...]

It seems like it's been ages, years even, since I last heard word from the local group The Laughing . I was always a fan of the band's tunes, but sort of just assumed that they had moved on to other things. Well, imagine my surprise today when I get a random email from the band promoting a new song entitled "Disappear". It shows tons of promise for one of Austin's finest bands that was dormant for too long. A new album from the band, Oscillation , is said to be on the way [...]
A cool work from Xpansul and Alessio Mereu coming back together in the same ep, after the previous project From Somewhere To Nowhere released on 2009 on T-Bet Records. But this time there's a striclty featuring enclosed in the emphasis of two tracks, including a remix by Sasha Carassi already known for his great works on various labels such Drumcode and mores.

New techno EP out from France-based Random A, with track for free download. The title of the EP rather gives away what this is all about. Bass frequencies, yes. Oscillation, yes. But not in a dubstep fat wobble, rather a 90s techno sort of way. The title track is a mix of strings and deep bass. Lovely bit of leftfield techno. The Syphon mix is a rather crispier version of the original, less focused on the bass. Unstable Lights is a more straight ahead piece of techno that gradually gathers pace. More for a club than home listening. Doesn't quite [...]
Alright. I've let Amanda do the majority of the hype so far for Decibel Festival, which (one night in) is absolutely crackin. Araabmuzik was my first-night notable, as he had Neumos in a Wednesday-night haze of electronic beauty from the second his first beat dropped. It's time for me to usher you into the crowning achievement [Read Full Post...]

Peacemaker - Canya Reial West Coast Chill - Ion the Prize Inside My Love (For Minnie) - DJ Cam Quartet The Italian homie Melaz, released yet again another amazing compilation, this being "Jazzy Trip" and it's without a doubt his best release so far. Wow. What a weekend. I'm sure you're all out getting loaded, but some of us have to work tomorrow. I guess that's why they call it Labor Day, amiright!? Hi, I'm Evan. You might remember me from such drunken blog posts as this one I'm writing right now. Also last night's post and most of [...]
This Houston Dubstep artist gives us a skillfully made track that offers up addicting synth lines and a healthy amount of bass in Infiniminer. I think Infiniminer might mean infinitely mining, because the song just keeps getting deeper and deeper into my head the more I listen to it. Give it a try. Infiniminer - Oscillator Z

- Frequenze review - THE OSCILLATION "Veils" all time low, 2011 A tre anni di distanza dal debutto su DC Recordings e diversi tour insieme a Moon Duo, Chrome Hoof, Beak, Zombie Zombie e Deerhunter, utili per costruirsi una solida reputazione [...]

Shag - Oscillation Shag - Remember I'm prescribed to Ambien for my sleeping issues. I take one or two every night and sleep comes to me so much easier. However, ask anyone I know, and they'll tell you I'm a completely different person on this drug; less intelligent, more open, sometimes brutally honest. The fact that such a small pill, with such a small amount of a substance in it, can have have such an effect on a person is amazing to me. Anyways, I've had some crazy [...]

After the success of Oscillate Wildly in April at Visions Videobar, their second outing tomorrow marks the start of their new home - the last Friday of every second month at Old Street's CAMP. And the lineup is banging to say the least: three of Pelski's favourite DJ's and producers playing a back to back set for the first time. For three hours. Plus James Fox on warm up duties: Midland b2b Pariah b2b Blawan (3 hour set) [...]

I'd discovered Chicago's Disappears fairly recently, and as with any recent acquisition to my list of 'new favourite bands', my excitement at seeing the group live was at a peak. On a night when Thurston Moore was entertaining another of my housemates at one of the city's larger venues, Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley was lined up to regale a gathered few with his new outfit in the small, utterly charming enclave that is Soho's Borderline club. We arrived early on and with enough time to witness the opening band, [...]
This is a completely engrossing video of pendulums moving in and out of sync with one another. I'd love to see someone smarter than myself juxtapose the mathematics of this motion with the video. A taste ! "The period of one complete cycle of the dance is 60 seconds. The length of the longest pendulum has been adjusted so that it executes 51 oscillations in this 60 second period. The length of each successive shorter pendulum is carefully adjusted so that it executes one additional oscillation in this [...]
It is almost three years since the release of The Oscillation's debut album "Out Of Phase" for DC Recordings. In those three years the band have played live all over the world, notching up a reputation as one of the finest live bands in the underground music world with performances alongside such musical luminaries as Chrome Hoof, Moon Duo, Beak, Zombie Zombie, Deerhunter, to name but a few…

Spit in my face face and call me a slug, but I completely forgot about Depth Charge recordings , it was only after DJ'ing the other day and seeing the first Oscillation album in someone's record bag, was I reminded about what great music they put out and almost as importantly, what amazing artwork they attributed to their acts (courtesy of La Boca ). The new LP by The Oscillation dropped last week via [...]
