Filed under: News , Exclusive , New Music , New Releases Pack AD Facebook Vancouver's hard-touring garage rock duo the Pack A.D. -- comprised of drummer Maya Miller and Becky Black -- has been tearing the roofs off venues and grinding it out on the road for the better part of seven years. Although the Pack has already been showered with a ton of critical praise and has a strong legion [...]
Watch our selection of excellent music videos from the deep blues of GravelRoad's brain melting Monkey With A Wig , to the psychedelic desert-folk of decker's live take on their track Cotton, Jane Doe and all by way of the Treetop Flyers sun-drenched Laurel Canyon vibe of Things Will Change and the wonderful Pack A.D.'s fiercely grisly video for Positronic . . . [...]
by Tiana Feng The Pack A.D. have a video out for Positronic showing a hit and run of some sort but the victim is revealed later to be some kind of robot and hunts him down for revenge. The song is available on Positronic out now.

New Pornographers' A.C. Newman performs at Crocodile on Friday photo by Jeremy Farmer With November gently rolling in there's no excuse not to go out and see some live music in Seattle. The week starts slowly with a couple local shows and just builds from there. Tilly and the Wall are at Neumos on Monday night, and Those Darlins', Heavy Cream, and The Mad Caps are at Sunset Tavern on Tuesday night. On Wednesday night there's a few interesting choices including Grand Hallway, Alice in the River, and Owl Pussycat at the Triple Door, Zammuto at Barboza, [...]

Yes indeed the 20th Anniversary Edition of the Halifax Pop Explosion is but a mere week away from starting, and as you can plainly see via the use of an exclamation mark in the title of this post, this is exciting news. If you're in Halifax and reading this, I have to assume you're already planning on attending some or all of the HPX festivities, but what of the folks coming from away? People do come from away for HPX, right (I'd ask for someone to tell us if they're coming to their first HPX [...]

![[Listen] The Pack A.D.- The Water](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4528630_lg.jpg)
by Tiana Feng The Pack A.D. are currently working with Jim Diamond on some new stuff. Some lovely high vocals and their signature fuzzed out sound are displayed in this newly reviled track The Water . No dates yet for an upcoming album, but we'll keep you posted.

The Pack A.D. are an uncontainable force of energy that can't be stopped. The duo consisting of Maya and Becky have been bringing their brand of ass-kicking to the masses. None is more evident than on their latest album Unpersons! We had some questions that we just had to ask them, so their drummer & songwriter Maya took the time to graciously give us her answers! AMBY: How did the two of you meet and form the Pack A.D. ? MM: We were [...]
One of the Venues for Dawson City Music Fest Looking for an alternative to Sasquatch, Bonnaroo, or the so-last-week (and the week before) Coachella? Maybe something a little smaller, cheaper, more obscure, or just further away? Here are a few recommendations from this year's crop of Canadian summer music festivals. Hillside Festival Guelph, Ontario July 27-29 The Gist: [...]

"Never thought I'd see you here," my friend Steven said, as I signed in to get my passes for Our Lady Peace and The Pack AD at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver on April 19. "Aren't Our Lady Peace a bit, uh, MAINSTREAM for you? "Oh yeah! Totally!" I proclaim gleefully. See, OLP is listed in the great Canon of 90s Radio-Friendly Canadiana, a territory I shouldn't have, but actually traversed, on occasion, growing up in Toronto. And me and OLP go way back. Why? Because they were always [...]

Joseph Arthur is a talented singer-songwriter with a fairly dedicated fanbase, yet he stood out like a sore thumb on this bill. With the possible exception of Brett Caswell and the Marquee Rose, who went on right before Arthur, he really had nothing in common with the rest of the acts on the bill. Case in point: this evening's headliners were Hamilton hard rockers Monster Truck. A fine band certainly, but I imagine there's not a great deal of crossover between their fans. (in fact, I could be one of the few ... didn't stick around for Monster Truck though) [...]

The 30th Annual Canadian Music Week is winding down. A lot of stuff was going on this year - one of the most notable things was the comeback of Canadian rock group, Treble Charger. Do you remember their single from 2000, American Psycho ? Oh man, the nostalgia. Anyways, here are my picks for tonight. ** Be sure to follow me on Twitter @feeonalui and @awmusicblog for live tweets from tonight's CMF festivities! The Indies at Royal York Hotel - Canadian Room. Built around the steady application of chugging guitars and thundering drums, "Sirens" wiggles it's infectious claws into your brain. That little voice telling you to bang your head and pump your fist? That's "Sirens." Coming out of the verses the song explodes in a fountain of grunge: [...]

photos by Brittney Bollay This afternoon we featured a live in-studio performance with a KEXP favorite: Elliott BROOD . We first fell in love with the Ontario trio after hearing their 2008 full-length, Mountain Meadows , and they've since performed a few times for us in different parts of the country: at SXSW, in Toronto, on the Mural Stage at the Seattle Center. Currently, the BROOD is touring their latest album, Days Into Years , and hit Seattle last week on the actual day of its release. That night, with their dark-woods gothic [...]
So, last week I decided to check out the love show of a band I knew nothing about. I don’t get to do that nearly as often as I’d like to, but my pal and local PR man, Nathan put the word out he was looking for a date and I decided to go hang out with him. (Full disclosure: PR man Nathan Walker wrote a few pieces for GLONO in another life. He only sends me shit he think I’ll actually like, making him a GOOD PR man). Nathan knows I like good rock and roll and [...]
