Bisschen Pop? Bisschen Electro? Oh, beides Frauen?

~ Palpitation - "We Don't Need To, We Don't Have To" ~ From the album I'm Absent, You're Faraway , release date June 1st, 2011, via Luxury .

Palpitation - We don't need to, we don't have to I dag släpps den första singeln från Palpitations kommande skiva I'm absent, you're faraway, som släpps den 1 juni.
With a Korean heritage entrenched in talent and basing themselves from out of Bastia, France, this brilliant new guy on the block known as Xanexx from the DJ duo group billed as Theriotz are tearing up Aerial Noise's airwaves + then some! With a Korean heritage entrenched in talent and basing themselves from out of Bastia, France, this brilliant new guy on the block known as Xanexx from the DJ duo group billed as Theriotz are tearing up Aerial Noise's airwaves + then some! Stemming from Seoul in Korea Theriotz's music in itself slams any past references for it being dated nor is it too futuristic in not being able to gel nicely into your everyday electro or house orientated sets. On showcase below are some modern-day vintage samples of Theriotz [...]

http://www.thepalpitations.co. uk/ So the next release to tempt you from your hard-earned is another by a London band, this time The Palpitations who release "Milk It" on digital after a limited vinyl release last month. You can get it here and if you'd prefer a chuck of wax here . Growing up as a indie-rock boy I've neglected those roots a bit recently in favour of doom-laden electro pop so it's nice to find something that properly [...]

This last week South London band The Palpitations released their new 7" "Milk It", out on Club The Mammoth Records. The song is completely full of energy, and while having somewhat dark lyrics, and instrumentation, it's still super fun and catchy to groove to. I love how the instrumentation gradually picks up steam and goes hand in hand with the increasingly intense vocals from Danielle. Make sure to play this fantastic indie punk song LOUD. The band has been featured on England's Channel 4, E4, and Radio 2, as well as sharing the stage with the likes of [...]

If you like to maintain a brooding and suave, vaguely macabre tone to proceedings on your iPod/iPad/iPhone/iTunes South London scamps The Palpitations ought to get your pulse thumping and your equaliser undulating. Trading in melodramatic, if relatively demure gloom tinged with a touch of optimism, they reside in the crevices between preened and eerie early Howling Bells recordings and the unabashed grandiosity of latter-day Duke Spirit. Anxiously await their impending transition from shadows to spotlight. Forthcoming single Milk It sees the light of day this Valentines Day. The Palpitations - Shirley [...]

Back in November 2009 The Palpitations gave some much needed muscle to the argument that indie guitar rock wasn't dead with the enticing and evocative Tears in the Rain - a spectral and emotive piece of drama if ever we heard one. At the time we suggested that it's edgy darkness and beauty was the perfect antidote to the likes of bands such as The Kooks and Razorlight. Listening back now Tears in the Rain seems even better placed today than it did in 2009 – or maybe it's because ultimately [...]

More than real news, this is just a heap of stuff I want to share with you guys. First of all, I'm really glad to see the lead up to the release of The Joy Formidable's full length debut, The Big Roar is attracting some serious media attention. They must be a glowing beacon to any new bands out there starting on the long road to becoming fully-fledged recording artists and succeeding on your own terms without compromise. The Joy Formidable - 'I Don't Want To See You Like [...]

Under the moniker of Niva, Stockholm's Christian Niva makes dreamy bedroom pop that borrows elements from modern dance music. It just so happens that I am in love with his music so naturally since he has a new song its going to be song of the day..Enjoy http://niva.tumblr.com http://niva.bandcamp.com Bonus:The Concretes - All Day (Niva Remix) [...]
In a normal month it takes at least three weeks for a selection (5) of great remixes to roll into my inbox, but the holidays must have everyone getting fresh because the remixes have been streaming... [go to the website to read the rest of the article, download mp3s and more]

In five years (Niva remix)

This is my alternative list to the' BBC Sound of list' which always seems to me to feature artists who have pretty much broken already. That may sound pretentious of me but I can assure you that's not my intention. I never forget the privileged position I have of hearing lots of great artists ahead of the curve. The price I pay tapping away at a keypad every evening and listening to every promo that hits the mat seems a small one, and I still get a real buzz from seeing and meeting emerging artists in small venues. This year the [...]
