Chicago-Minneapolis dream-pop trio ON AN ON are Nate Eiesland, Alissa Ricci, and Ryne Estwing. They have crafted a gorgeous sound which is drenched with spell-binding harmonies and luscious melodies. Playing with Savoir Adore this Friday at The Drake in Toronto, AMBY wanted to catch up with the band before the show to see what's new. So we spoke with ON AN ON about being fueled by Mexican food and Phó, streakers, and new laws! AMBY: How would you describe ON AN ON's sound to those unfamiliar with your music? ON AN [...]

With the Russian meteor and today's DA14 asteroid passing within 17,000 miles of us, you've probably been asking yourself, Hey, do we have a plan in place for what to do if it looks like a really big asteroid might actually collide with earth and kill us all? The bum-out of an answer to that question is, unfortunately, "Nope." But the good news is they're working on it. It's been 15 years since Michael Bay made one of the best-worst movies in Hollywood history, "Armageddon," (which, incidentally, you can stream in full here if [...]
Today, it was announced that Swatch is acquiring Harry Winston's jewelry and watch business for a whopping $1 billion. On first glance, this seems like a pity. The folks that headed the charge to make the watch a disposable fashion item have scooped up a company that's devoted to precision craftsmanship, horological Read more [...]

Guest Article written by Celo Alvarado What would happen if you took some swing artists from the 19302s and showed them the marvels of 2012 music making technology? That's pretty much what the French group Caravan Palace has done with their album Panic . Now I'm a sucker for some good old fashioned swing music to begin with but these guys really make this stuff cool. But what would you expect from a group that formed orginally to make soundtracks for black and white porno's? The track "Dramaphone", featured below, has a funky [...]

In August 1999, Seattle hardcore band Trial released Are These Our Lives? , an absolutely brilliant, passionate and essential modern hardcore record. Unfortunately, the band broke up the following year leaving tons of fans disappointed. Trial have been playing shows again sporadically since 2005 and will perform a bunch of dates in November throughout North America. Punknews staff writer Alexis Charlebois sent frontman Greg Bennick a few questions by e-mail and some amazing answers came back. Greg Bennick seems to be all about communication. And that's pretty cool in our book.

Pentimento and their former label, Panic Records , have begun a bit of a public argument over the band's time with the label. The story began when Pentimento announced their plans to release through Paper and Plastick and Black Numbers . The announcement led to legal action from Panic, which the band notes: Panic Records has [threatened] legal action toward Pentimento, Paper + Plastick and Black Numbers if we continue on with our record release. No vinyl or CDs or cassettes have been pressed. [So] we've decided [on] protecting [...]

Wow, check out this sexy, rumbling bassline from Milwaukee outfit The Delphines . Slightly grungey beach-pop, Panic is too slick for words, landing somewhere between The Kills and Best Coast , with it's blissed out attitude and seductive approach. So the B-side follows a fairly similar formula and sounds slightly like a sixteen year old's first attempt at recording, but hey, why try to fix something that ain't broken, right? The Delphines are bloody brilliant, and more people should know it.

Just one week after dropping his groovy house track, " Sing That ," John Dahlback is back with the dual release of "Panic" and "Whats Up Now." "Panic" features building symphonic leads and bass-heavy synth stabs that will please progressive and electro lovers alike. Dahlback follows in the same vein with "Whats Up Now", offering progressive builds that culminate in a wobbly, twisted bass line. Give both tracks a listen and pick up your favorite (or both) from Beatport via Chris Lake's Rising Music label. Purchase: Beatport You [...]

Oh, this is rich (so to speak). L.A. rockers Silversun Pickups have sent Mitt Romney a cease-and-desist letter asking that the GOP presidential hopeful stop using the quartet's 2009 single "Panic Switch" at his campaign stops. The statement from SSPU frontman Brian Aubert: "We don't like people going behind our backs, using our music without asking, and we don't like the Romney campaign. We're nice, approachable people. We won't bite. Unless you're Mitt Romney! We were very close to just letting this go because the irony was too [...]

![Ro Blvd ft. Cali Cush – Summer Solstice [Music]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4412427_lg.jpg)
Our bro, Ro Blvd , is getting amped up to release his newest project Heart Pounding Panic . As we get close to August, Ro blesses us with a joint of the project titled, " Summer Solstice ," featuring Cali Cush . This track feels like Ro studied Cali Cush to make the perfect sounds to fit his flow. Summer Solstice is a definite winner and if this is any idea of how the entire project will sound, we are in store for something great.
[ download ] A boy meets a girl. It is obvious to both of them that there is a connection between them. They talk. They flirt. Sparks fly. They both know there could be something worth pursuing here. They’re both curious about taking things further and seeing what might develop between them. They’re re-enacting a story as old as Adam and Eve. They’re both on the same page and both want the same things. And then… Everything prior to “and then…” is what Detroit’s [...]

I come from a long line of military servicemen and elected to not join up -- philosophically, it doesn't work for me. However - I respect and regularly thank those who do. Let's take a minute to consider all of those serving, those have served, those who have died or have not fully returned. soldiers resting. The American military has done two very remarkable things this year that I want to recognize - with the permanent removal [...]
