In this week's print edition, RFT Music writer Evan C. Jones interviewed local electronic artist Ian "Parisian" Jones (no relation), whom some may remember as one half of the now-defunct, locally... Guerre has released 2 incredible remixes. 1st up is an industrial electronic interpretation of “Rashad (Loose Pace)” by Melbourne duo Forces . Then a blissful atmospheric journey created by Parisian for “For Qwanisha”. Rashad (Loose Pace) (Forces remix) // download For Qwanisha (Parisian remix) // download

Those Emotions Ran High , is the debut EP from Parisian . it released a year ago, but I don’t think it got the attention it deserves. It includes 7 beautifully crafted songs by the St. Louis native & all of them available for free download here . If you missed his latest effort the Daul Kim EP , you need to check it out now . It’s quite impressive. White Flashes // download [...]

Fans of Lykki Li and Bat For Lashes take note. French pop singer Owlle will be the next name you'll be banging on about to your friends. Ticky Ticky will have your feet tamping, your hips swaying and your head nodding. Another act to watch out for in Brighton @ The Great Escape

What almost seems like decades has finally arrived - Kavinsky's debut album, OutRun, was released on February 25th. The Parisian mastermind, though he's been on the scene for years, has packaged his genius into a 13 track LP. With all these years waiting, does OutRun run smoothly or is it simply out of gas? WDPK's ethos is that albums need to have a good story and flow. Kavinsky nails it on the head in the storytelling department - no quibbles there. The background of Kavinsky, the story of a man possessed by a [...]

There’s no denying St Louis-based Parisian is making some serious waves right now. With his Daul Kim EP release, out this week on Push & Run, he manages to conjure haunting, emotive forces with his own unique brand of deep, interesting electronica. Inspired by the blog of South Korean model Daul Kim and her writings before she committed suicide, Parisian also cites New Wave French Cinema as a huge influence on his haunting productions. Listen to my favorite tracks from the release below [...]

Digo, tal [...]
Parisian - Still In Love With We’ve been closely following the work of Parisian ever since we caught a glimpse if his recent split 7” release on Lefse Records. Expectedly, we were really excited today to discover his freshly-released Daul Kim EP on Push & Run . There’s actually an intriguing story behind the EP as it’s named after the South Korean model and blogger who committed suicide in 2009. Listening through Dual Kim [...]

Peter Turnley is the photographic descendant of such master French photographers as Brassaï , Henri Cartier-Bresson , Robert Doisneau , and Édouard Boubat . That Turnley's work has been inspired by these earlier influences comes as no surprise, for as a young photographer he worked as Doisneau's assistant and subsequently became a close friend of Boubat. Yet Turnley's work is uniquely his own, rooted in his forty-year affair of the heart with the most beautiful city in the world. He invites us to share a Paris that outsiders rarely see. [...]

The heartbreaking realization that the emotions taking over, will leave you no longer in control. Harsh revelations unfold in the form of caustic cries and rhythmic beats that resonate in a cold, chilling way. Like spinning through space a million miles an hour, but feeling like every moment is painstakingly frozen in time. Ian Jones aka Parisian speaks in symbols and metaphors instead of melodies and words. His textural beats tell a story with their aching breaks and rickety twists. There’s a softness to his tale, that shred of hope that makes [...]

By Anne Lindberg Another solid recommendation from my Brasstax brethren Jake Guidry, this one being a hangover cure from St. Louis based producer Parisian. "Still In Love With" is a moody take from his forthcoming Daul Kim EP, out February 18th via Push & Run Records . - Follow Parisian: Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud
The French can really nail the sophisto-cool aesthetic. Think of Air or smoother Daft Punk tracks with their Parisian calm and collectedness, being cool means never losing your cool. This track from Paradis, a young Parisian duo feels calm, collected and sexy. It’s a perfect noir-pop track which reinforces music related national stereotypes. The french [...]
A new pattern flourished on our Maison Kitsuné Paris windows! The most attentive should have recognized the stamp of our Maison Kitsuné x Pernod Absinthe collection, the first ever fashion collection inspired by a liquor brand. This flowery and fox-mottled print was inspired by the imaginary world floating around the myth of the Absinthe and [...]
As with last week, this week's lot of new albums offers an impressive collection of fresh releases to keep any music lover busy for the next few days. After more than three years, the popular indie band Local Natives finally dropped the follow-up to their 2009 widely-acclaimed debut record. The new album's lead track, "Breakers," [...] Read more, get songs or stream the entire mix on Indie Rock Cafe

St. Louis production prodigy Phaseone has released his new churning, methodical "Blood Spirit I" from the upcoming May LP If I Tell U . The moody track comes a few weeks after Phaseone (Andrew Jernigan) released "It's Not Forever," featured on his Lefse split with Parisian . Both are available below, but grab If I Tell U May 7 via Williams Street Records .

2013 continues to bolt out of the gate with another solid week of new releases. With the long awaited followup to their well-received 2009 debut, Local Natives top our list of must-buys. Hummingbird finds the Silver Lake, Los Angeles, group pushing into new territories of song structure, challenging listeners while still enticing them the same rich harmonies that made them an initial success. Another anticipated followup out this week is the seventh studio album by Canadian twins Tegan & Sara , whose Heartthrob is an well-produced, achingly romantic collection of indie pop. [...]
One of the EPs that I listened to the most last year was Parisian ’s Those Emotions Ran High . It was perfect to listen to while lying in bed, pretending to be someone else. Ian was so nice to send me “still in love with” a few months ago, a track that would be on his new EP titled Daul Kim , which is now set to be released on February 18th through Push & Run . I love the subtle rhythm of the track and how it calms me down (though in a sad [...]
Parisian , who hails from St. Louis, not Paris, and Brooklyn-via-St. Louis producer Phaseone are collaborating on a 7" split for Lefse Records . Music Player: Sean [...]
