Feelings is Berkfinger's (ex Philly Jays) new project. The first single was released 6 months ago, and with a debut full length due out midway through this year, he has decided to tease us with another taste of what to expect. 'Intercourse' is a song about the sexual kind, and making sure all dialogue leads [...]
Philadelphia Grand Jury - 99 Problems (Jay-Z cover) This is amazing. I bet no one reading this blog saw this video, or has even heard of Philadelphia Grand Jury before. That’s because they’re basically Australian indie famous. Oh, and they broke up a year ago. Check them out FOR SURE while I go search the internet for where these musicians are now, because they’re super talented. // http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P hiladelphia_Grand_Jury // http://hypem.com/search/Philad elphia%20Grand%20Jury/1/ [found some of their releases, all delicious]
The Philly Jays were a great band. And now lead man, Berkfinger is back with a new project, Feelings. Killer new track is called 'One In A Million' and also features Dan from Art Vs Science (don't hold that against him) and Dave from Dappled Cities. It'd be this arty pop number that kind of [...]

. Whilst Sydney Australia's Philadelphia Grand Jury (The Philly Jays) retired the band together last year after only one album, the creative songwriting genius of Simon "Berkfinger" Berckelman lived on in a solo project 'Feelings'. Check out his first official track from his new solo venture below. We like ALOT! Feelings will be playing a handful of shows in Australia in September, with Berkfinger being joined by one of our favorite Aussie's on stage by Dan Sweat from Art Vs Science and Dappled Cities' Dave Rennick. [...]
If you haven't been watching Comedy Central's hit show Workaholics , shame on you. (Well, if you haven't been watching it due to the recent Direct TV/Viacom squabble, then you're off the hook.) Starring and written by Blake Anderson, Adam Devine, and Anders Holm of Mail Order Comedy fame, Workaholics follows the exploits of three friends who have recently graduated from college. Entering the work force for a telecommunication company, the trio continue with their college ways as they hilariously adjust to being grown-ups. The show is The Office meets [...]
Here is the brand new and delightfully lo-tech video for 'Save Our Town' from Aussies Philadelphia Grand Jury. Have a good weekend folks (and fun night out with Guy Fawkes themed bonfires, if that's your thing)! Click here to view the embedded video.

Prepared to be hooked in by Australian band Philadelphia Grand Jury's excellent single "Save Our Town". It's synth led, and constructed with a fine hook that will leave you wanting more. Right away your pulled in, and it leaves you feeling warm inside. Try hard not to smile along to this one. It's quite an excellent little song. It was released in Australia last year, but it's getting a deluxe edition re-release via Boomtown/Shock , so it's new to me. The band just released an appropriate music video for it. Watch that below, after you [...]

The chance to lie in and spend the morning lazing around is most welcome after several consecutive days of bands and booze. Of course it makes all sense to schedule the final day of CMJ on a Saturday, giving the hardy week goers one final fling before Sunday rest, as well as a chance for those limited by the weekly routine to get their share on the weekend. Even so, to the schedulers I say simply: cheers . Once I finally awake from my own personal multi-nap [...]

In addition to returning to the U.S. next week Philadelphia Grand Jury offer up their version of "99 Problems" . http://www.philadelphiagrandju ry.com/ http://twitter.com/phillyjays

Ok. So we'll admit right up front that Philadelphia Grand Jury are not actually from Philadelphia. We applaud the slightly underhanded manner by which they attempted - and succeeded - to get some coverage here on our local music site. But with a name so brilliant, and more than a handful of deliciously poppy songs we had to give these guys a shout out. PGJ are from Sydney, Australia. Joel "MC Bad Genius" Beeson plays bass, keyboard and guitar, Simon "Berkfinger" Berckelman sings and plays guitar. A variety of drummers have provided the beats [...]

For a pure rock band to stand out, they need to strut . Not in a cheesy 80's hair band way, but in a confident, "our tunes are superior to your tunes" sort of way. The sound needs to veritably swagger with that confidence, to stand out amongst the copycats and wannabes. Philadelphia Grand Jury - or The Philly Jays, apparently, should you get to know them - are a band that straight swagger. [...]
