Last year's Orchard-IODA merger brought a veritable treasure trove of great new music into our system. We've had the very pleasurable opportunity to do a fair bit of exploration over the last 13 months and thought we might share a cross section of highlights. The following playlist includes household names to ...
Kasper Bjørke : “ To me, remixing is about honouring the original composition by deconstructing it and adding new ideas from my own sound universe, and in that sense create something entirely new.“ La semana pasada entrevistábamos al danés de Kasper Bjørke, y hoy publica un doble álbum compilado de las remezclas que este gran productor ha realizado él para otros productores y otros productores han realizado para sus composiciones durante los años 2007 y 2013 en el sello hfn Music , una magnifica compilación de 12 remezclas de sus [...]
It seems as though everywhere you turn these days a teenage musical prodigy is waiting to great you. With producers the likes of Madeon, Porter Robinson, and Marty all finding enormous success and notoriety before the age of 20, it was only fitting that you hear about another one . Being just a sophomore at The University of Vermont hasn't stopped young Pierce Fulton from headlining some of the biggest clubs in the United States. Along with garnering attention from talent the likes of Tiesto and Wolfgang Gartner for his hardhitting electro bangers, the young [...]

I posted Dominic's remix of his track " Pierce " featuring Pusha-T last week. The young artist is on the rise, with some serious behind the scenes co-signs and with a fresh project with a unique sound, Dominic Lord buzz will be growing exponentially. Stream the EP and download below. Side Notes: How much buzz has the young man garnered? Well check out the fine print and you'll see production credits from Hudson Mohawke along with Chad Hugo. Then there's the remix with Pusha-T, as well as his affiliation with Steven Victor, Pusha-T's manager. Stay on the look out. [...]

This Saturday marks the debut of the Fashion Show EP, Harlem rapper Dominic Lord 's first release. 18-year-old Lord is a former member of the A$AP Mob , where he went by the moniker "A$AP Dom." His role was as a designer, rather than a rapper, allegedly designing Blackscale 's VSVP clothing pieces, synonymous with the Mob. This intelligent lyricist is a perfectly balanced cocktail of style, substance and a dash of luck, having been graced with the beats of producers such as Hudson Mohawke . The instrumental for Pierce was the last [...]

Most posts about Dominic Lord start off something like "Ex-A$AP member", but at this point that association is old news. Having left the crew some time ago, Lord is his own entity and a multifaceted artist at that. His range runs from audio to visual, considering he directed the original video for "Pierce" (below); helped design theVSVP Collection (A$AP x Black Scale); and with the music he's created as a producer and MC. Enough yammering though, today he released the remix to his debut track "Pierce", tweaking the original Hudson Mohawke beat with some Grimes and enlisting Pusha [...]

Happy Friday you crazy assholes, and God Bless the Kansas City Chiefs! Before I go tailgate and get shithoused, here's a very chill song for you all to soak in titled Pierce by rising Harlem MC Dominic Lord . A former member of the A$AP Mob, Dominic is said to be the subject of some fierce bidding wars between major record labels. Dominic was not only part of the A$AP Mob, but he is said to have been an in-house designer for the gang as well. Whether that means he was more into sound design or fashion, [...]
A man of diverse taste, Pierce Fulton brings out progressive side with his remix of Usher's "Scream" (Less "Who Wants Spaghetti?", more "Lay Right Here"). Between the filming of his self-titled Youtube series and a prodigious amount of touring, his re-work of Usher's summer single is a welcome return to the quality production that has helped him [...]

Check out my photos of Coldplay at the Hollywood Bowl over at Stereogum .

Coldplay's domination of Southern California continued as they are in the midst of an impressive run of three sold out nights at the historic Hollywood Bowl in support of their album Mylo Xyloto . Fireworks, lasers, confetti, neon glowing wristbands and a twenty-one song setlist enthralled the capacity crowd. Some of the many highlights included the massive sing-along to " Viva La Vida ," Coldplay running halfway up the Bowl to play "Us Against The World and "Speed of Sound" and Chris Martin's quick shout out to Gwyneth Paltrow before "Clocks." It was also commendable to see that Coldplay [...]

Following three commercially unsuccessful albums, Alabama-born and raised sisters Allison and Catherine Pierce had decided that a joint music career might not be in-store. The following day Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman called them and said he wanted to co-produce their next album. And just like that, the band was back together. Following the successful release of You & I in the U.K. last year, the album received a proper U.S. release last month. Friday, The Pierces were opening for Coldplay at the HP Pavilion in San Jose. While [...]
To most of the fans in attendance at HP Pavilion this past Saturday night, I might have seemed crazy... or at least like I've been living under a rock since 2000. That's not to say that I've never heard of Coldplay, or don't enjoy the singles I've been hearing over the years, or that I [...]

Alabama raised Allison and Catherine Pierce (aka The Pierces ) have made their mark on the New York music scene for over a decade. Managing the ups and downs of a professional musical career in the era the record industry collapsed has been no easy task, but these talented ladies have done so with impressive class and resourcefulness. With four albums now under their belt, their latest "You and I" (out in March) is garnering them the amount attention they deserve. Deli contributor Dave Cromwell has been catching up with the blonde half of the duo, Catherine. [...]
