For those of you that can't get enough of classic rock or its many present-day variations, The Pinx are prepared to be your new favorite band. Adam McIntyre (vocals/guitar), Joe Giddings (vocals/bass) and Jim O'Kane (drums) play meat 'n' potatoes rock 'n' roll with just the basics - making raw, elemental music that's a nice breath of fresh air amid the torrent of indie music I'm generally surrounding myself with. The band's new album, Look What You Made Me Do , has earned them some accolades around the 'net and a spot on tour with Ben [...]

I seem to be reeling off review after review lately. Whether EP or full album releases, my inbox always includes a chronological ordered list of links to another collection of wonderful tunes. Although time consuming, reviews will still form the foundation of mojophenia and ultimately giving new international artists a UK platform to shout from. Shortly or more accurately when we get our act together, an offshoot of mojophenia will go live. Mind Over Music will concentrate on individual Online promotion through a comprehensive database of the very cool and influential music sites across the Internet. [...]

I spent most of this past week listening to the new "Deluxe" version of R.E.M.'s Reckoning preparing for an upcoming review/short feature for my paid writing gig. So far, I'm not feeling much different about the album than I always have (that is, it's not as close to my heart as a couple of other R.E.M. records are/have been) but it has gotten me thinking about my history with R.E.M. quite a bit. There'd be no way to deny that it was R.E.M. that sealed my fate and put me on the path that caused me to make [...]

Only a year into their existence, the guitar-driven rock of Atlanta's The Pinx will reassure you there are still bands churning out rock music that is dark, dirty and hard. Their reputation of being some of the hardest-working rockers was derived from playing in dives and at festivals around the country and living on the road. Their soon-to-be-released new album, Look What You Made Me Do could end up being one of rock's top albums of 2009, and the sound is an unmeasured mix of The Kinks, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and The Who topped [...]
