I loved this song when it came out as an album track on their debut record in 2008. Now Eddie Chacon and his collaborator (and wife) Sissy Sainte-Marie have re-released the tune as a single, which they're promoting via a new bad-assed video: It'll also come out on the upcoming Polyamorous Affair album, The Future Isn't What It Used to Be , produced by Best Coast -er and all-around babe bewitcher Bobb Bruno . Keep your eyes peeled. -D. M. Collins

We get a lot of requests from artists, PR, managers and labels asking us to post music from bands that have already released several albums. We tend to turn them down, as this blog and the service it's trying to provide is all about delivering new, emerging music to people. What good is it to recommend an artist you've already heard of, right? On the flip side, we're not interested in desperately being first either, more that we're only trying to be early to new music, so the readers genuinely discover something. Anything else makes the purpose of this blog [...]

The Polyamorous Affair are set to release their new single 'Whoever Controls The Groove' on April 6th, and it's backed with remixes from Ghosting Season, Bright Light Bright Light and this killer reworking from Enjoyed, who we're massive fans of. Take a listen to the remix, and original, below. You won't regret it.

Well well well. The Polyamorous Affair have gone and pushed the boat out with this mix, and by the sweet lord Brian Ferry it sounds great. Showcasing their immense taste, they've dragged through all that is unholy in the world of 80s disco (and beyond) and come up trumps with some pure nuggets. You can see where they get the inspiration for their amazing Levan-esque jam 'Fantasy' now... Listen to it [...]
The Polyamorous Affair's sultry, subversive electro was made for dark places. And the Berlin-based duo of Eddie Chacon and Sissy Sainte-Marie, who not so long ago called L.A. home, go there in the video for "Fantasy," which transfers the notion of appetite to someplace a little bit grisly. The single comes from 20102s synth-laden "Strange Bedfellows" album, released on their own Winter Palace Records. The video is the latest in a long line of compelling visuals the twosome have made for their music. What's for dinner, honey? ||| Previously: "Rebel" video ; [...]
The Polyamorous Affair comprise of Eddie Chaco n and Sissy Sainte-Marie . A duo from Los Angeles in the USAwho are more at home in Berlin and Copenhagen, with their electro-pop beats. The Polyamorous Affair Kitsch electro-pop is easy, making it interesting is the hard part and The Polyamorous Affair have captured the essence of saccharine with a drop of lemon to a consummate degree. I could hark back to all the references to a few decades [...]
It's quite possible that I will tire of posting new videos from the Polyamorous Affair — L.A. expatriates Eddie Chacon and Sissy Sainte-Marie now stationed in Europe. But not if they continue to be this good. "New York City" was cool; "Softer and Softer" was cooler; now comes "Rebel" (off their most recent release "Strange Bedfellows"), directed by Dev01ded . Might the duo be coming home for holidays?

The Polyamorous Affair | Softer & Softer (DL) [...]

So, I missed last weeks GIGANTIC because I was away in New York having a wee gallivant. I have it on good authority that the FAUX DJs had a total stormer though, so I'm guessing I wasn't missed too much. Inspired by my week in NY, I decided to post up a few New York related songs that aren't necessarily the most obvious. First up is a track from The Polyamorous Affair. They're an awesome electro-pop two piece, half of which was once in Chas and Eddie. Oh, and they're a married couple too. You [...]
No sooner had I finished posting about Essay (see below), a duo on the Polyamorous Affair's Winter Palace Records , than the Mr. and Mrs. themselves checked in from Berlin. When we last heard from Eddie Chacon and Sissy Saint-Marie, the former L.A. residents were previewing their new album, "Strange Bedfellows." Now, abetted by Danish director Nuka Wølk Mathiassen , the duo has premiered a short movie for the track "Softer and Softer." I could crack wise about the perils of married life, but instead I'll just refer you to the German site [...]

There's a certain insouciance in "Helicopter," the wry first single from the L.A. electro duo Essay . A bit too defiant of convention to be pop, and too silly lyrically to be punk, it's the brainchild of Russian-born Renata Raksha and Belgium-bred Peter Moran (ex-Laco$te), who met at an Echo Park gallery and first collaborated on visual art. Which makes sense, and also makes us curious about their first EP, due soon on the Polyamorous Affair's Winter Palace Records . ||| Download: "Helicopter" [...]

La Scala are a local Chicago wunderband. I say that because they not only make some pretty nifty music themselves, as you will hear below, but they are the recording genius behind My Gold Mask too. Their latest album, The Last Carousel came out July 30th and it's a wonderful romp through 602s pop with a post-punk veneer. What La Scala has going on is truly authentic and original and I dare you to play some of this at your next party. You'll have at least 4 people asking you who this is, guaranteed. [...]

This mini-mixtape goes by the name of Your Mom Upside Down Is Wow . While I'd like to imagine the title is self-explanatory, the truth is that there isn't much of an explanation. Let's just say this was inspired by a misguided adventure to the back room of Salem's West Coast Video store, and you should be glad I didn't opt for the title Fucking Bozos . Twin Shadow - When We're Dancing The xx - Shelter (Tiga Remix) Lo-Fi-Fnk - Layin' Lo [...]
With the new music coming in from all directions non-stop all year long, we miss great new releases when they come out for one reason or another. That's what this playlist mix series is for - to save face. Haha. No, really, it's just a focused way to say, "hey, there's great, new music we [...] Related posts:Recent Releases We Almost Missed, Vol. V: The Library Is On Fire, Son Lux, The Ambience Affair, Japanther, Yawn, Kikipau Five Anticipated Summer Releases, Vol. III: Washed Out, Sparklehorse & Danger Mouse, Chief, Jaill, and Menomena Recent Releases We Almost Missed, [...]

Have to admit it was a dark day at Buzz Bands HQ when Eddie Chacon and Sissy Saint-Marie announced they were relocating their Polyamorous Affair from L.A. to Europe. Their second album "Bolshevik Disco" remains one of the highlights of the Manimal Vinyl catalog, and now they've followed it up with "Strange Bedfellows" on Winter Palace Records. Gone, seemingly, is the kitsch in their kitschy-cool synth-pop — on the new album the duo trade off vocals for a more (but not entirely) brooding take on electro that suggests late nights in Berlin cafés. Or maybe I'm just reading [...]

The Polyamorous Affair is a nomadic-by-way-of-Los Angeles duo who weave a rich fantasy world into their own mischievous brand of electronic pop. The duo which formed in Denmark in 2007 is comprised of Eddie Chacon and Sissy Sainte-Marie who currently divide their time between Copenhagen and Berlin. Today (August 16th) they release their 3rd album, Strange Bedfellows . Widely acclaimed across the board from NME to Dazed Digital, The Polyamorous Affair have become known for their strategic simplicity, chilly beats and warm vibes, all set in some bizarre frame of opulence.
