Ok, I admit it... advent blogging fail. At this rate I'll still be catching up with my advent well into the new year. Oh well. Some people don't like Owl City... and I get that. But I admit that a lot of times I turn it on and pretend that it's a brand new Postal [...]
New band out of Ottawa, Canada called Fevers. Cut from the same cloth as M83 and The Postal Service, the band does well by mixing electronic dance music with indie rock hooks. Download their EP "Passion Is Dead" here. Looking forward to hearing more from this band very soon. Enjoy! Fevers| Passion [...]

"I mean, look at me— I'm an actor. An actor, for crying out loud. You know how much rejection I face every day? But in this business of show, you have to have the heart of an angel and the hide... of an elephant." Words of wisdom from the perennial actor / never-nude, Tobias Funke. Yes, not everyone's cut out to be a a DeNiro, or a Regis, or a Pinkett-Smith, but there are a select few actors & actresses that have reached the pantheon of greatness, which is, of course, being memorialized in song. Such [...]
Filed under: New Music , Exclusive , RPM Lauren Dukoff As Jimmy Tamborello proves with his remix of the Elected 's 'Babyface,' an indie-pop track can easily be transformed into something that might have ended up on the ' Scarface ' soundtrack. After stripping away the major-key guitar lines and giving the song a downtempo groove, the electro artist, DJ and Postal Service producer took Elected frontman Blake Sennett right [...]

Straight out of the bizarrely effective files of guitar rock / hip-hop mashups comes "Westside Heights Dude," by NYC's own DJ 6reg . It's a combination of Dr. Dre's "Westside Story," Beenie Man's "Dude," and the Postal Service's "Such Great Heights." Like bacon and ice cream, you wouldn't think it works... but it does. westside heights dude by 6reg The other 6reg track worth paying attention to is "Just What" - a mashup of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" and Jay-Z's "Jigga What." Simple - [...]
The one album done by Ben Gibbard and DNTEL, aka The Postal Service , was my favorite thing in the world for a full 12 months. Unfortunately they never did a follow up. No idea why. Guessing Ben decided he had better things to do with Deathcab and Zooey D. Thanks to Frank we get to hear what the coolest song on Give Up (at least I think so) would have sounded like as an acoustic folk rock song. Man I love Frank Turner.
![[Ones To Watch] – Introducing – Ducky](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3731004_lg.jpg)
Tweet Man, I wish I went to a school where I could spend a year knocking out a CD - I don't just mean in my spare time, but as an actual class project. That was the experience of Ducky , or Morgan Neiman as she was presumably known at the time. She's now based in New York, but was born and raised amidst the eclectic electro scene of San Francisco. That school project - undertaken when she was just thirteen - provided her with [...]
Click image to download full album Song: Inspired Flight - Wonderwall Remix "Inspired Flight - Wonderwall Remix" What's so good? Normally I wouldn't post two songs by the same artists as Song of the Day in almost successive days (I just recently posted this song Ft. Scarub ). But I didn't know this track existed. And don't let the title deceive you - this is a far stretch from the "Wonderwall" you're familiar with. Essentially, Inspired Flight have [...]
![Letting Up Despite Great Faults – "Teenage Tide" [VIDEO]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3708786_lg.jpg)
One last thing before summer is over, check out the new music video from Letting Up Despite Great Faults . "Teenage Tide"was recently featured on Rolling Stones ' New&Hot videos and received much attention from shoegaze/ nu gaze fans. I'm not sure if this is the correct word usage but I am turning into a fellow "shoegazer". Letting Up Despite Great Faults is a band from LA and without a doubt, they deliver music with a blissful West Coast feel. Various blogs have likened this band to M83, The Radio Dept and [...]

Click image to download full album Song: Inspired Flight - It's The Chemicals (Ft. Scarub) "Inspired Flight - It's The Chemicals (Ft. Scarub)" What's so good? This song is like listening to The Postal Service smooshed up with The Pharcyde. No wait, it's like hearing ... okay, it's like hearing Inspired Flight featuring Scarub. Which is an awesome pairing, if you ask me. One that I didn't know existed before today. And to think it has been around for more [...]

Roberts & Lords are a new addition to the growing Asthmatic Kitty catalog. According to released info, the origins of their debut Eponymous were couched in remote collaboration between Rafter Roberts and Simon Lord a la The Postal Service though via digital exchange (they found each other on MySpace, believe it or not). These indietronic kids have potential to score in the circuit lit up by other Sufjan et al sponsored efforts, but they've got work ahead of them. Rafter Roberts clearly has a good set of pipes which echo a more [...]
