It's the first of the month, and that means it's time for another edition of "What's Your Muse?" The concept is simple: We ask a band/artist to choose a song that means a lot/the most to them. Then, they record and send us a video of themselves describing why they chose the song. Think of it like a collaborative video mixtape project. In this edition, we hear from Postelles frontman Daniel Balk. [...]
The Postelles Premiere "White Night" Music Video Debut Album Coming October 12th NYC quartet The Postelles video for their debut single "White Night" premiered Monday on Idolator . The video takes place on a wintery night in downtown Manhattan. Watch it on BandWeblogs.com ! Fresh off the road with Alberta Cross and an appearance at this year's Bonnaroo , the band is busy gearing up for the release of their self-titled debut album [...]
Manhattan garage pop-rock quartet The Postelles will follow up their White Night EP with their self-titled debut album (out July 27 via Capitol), which was co-produced by the band and Albert Hammond, Jr. of The Strokes. (Meanwhile, Hammond's bandmate Nick Valensi kept busy by working on Sia's We Are Born .) And to whet your appetite in the month leading up to the release of the guys' LP, we've got the premiere of their "White Night" music video after the jump. Max Lanman directed [...]
I was first introduced to The Postelles (say it... Poe-stells ) through their White Night EP and a few singles on their MySpace. Considering their sound and the fact they're from New York, a lot of people lazily just say they're like The Strokes. As I mentioned in my review of their EP, the thing that separates the band from their New York counterpart is their '50s style, both vocally and musically. Singer Daniel Balk croons with such soul and sounds like a '50s rhythm and blues singer (Sam Cooke is cited as an influence and [...]
Hayley Williams from Paramore's twitter got "hacked" and this pic went out to the masses a couple days ago. I found it fitting for the image to along with my raging summer mix. I am in a really fucking fantastic mood because FINALLY it is officially the kick off of summer! I make a little summer rage mini mix. Some old, some new, some just super awesome. If you're not outside with a drink in your hand then pour one while this is downloading and get your ass out there. THE POSTELLES - "WHITE NIGHT" NYC [...]
I discovered The Postelles a couple of years ago at SXSW and fell head over heels with their uptempo modern take on surf-pop...think The Strokes playing something like Herman's Hermits. The sheer number of lead singer Daniel Balk's "oh oh oh's" will start your toes tapping and your hips swiveling in time to drummer Billy Cadden's 3/4 drum beats. They're finally releasing their self-titled full-length debut record on 7/27 (Capitol/Astralwerks) and the cover was put out today (above). They're playing Bonnaroo, as well as headlining at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC in July, but in [...]
The Postelles' "White Night" music video
Considering how long it's been since we first told you about up-and-comers The Postelles , it seems surprising that their debut album still hasn't been released yet. Don't worry though, it finally arrives on October 12th of this year, and in the meantime the band have released a video for the song "White Night." Check it out above.

CHECK IT :: The Postelles debut “White Night” video + mp3
How nice it is to see a bunch of fellas who are around my age and live in the same area (tri-state area,) making good music while doing well for themselves. I certainly wish I had the same fortune but that is another story. Anyways, the group I am refering to is The Postelles ! It should come to no suprise that their blend of doo-wop and garage rock sounds eerily like a beefed up product of The Strokes since their self-titled debut album was co-produced with the Strokes' guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. Since no one knows [...]

The Postelles/Xylos (5/16/10, Brooklyn Bowl, NYC) – Concert Review
The Postelles and Xylos performed at the Taste of Williamsburg after-party at Brooklyn Bowl on Sunday which was a benefit to help build the Northside Town Hall Community and Cultural Center. The show was, overall, really good with the usual highs and energetic bits you'd expect from each act. Xylos , with their playful melodies and great three part harmonies are pretty much a must-see live band. They're playing Bowery Ballroom on May 22nd, a cancer benefit on June 5th ( Brentapalooza.net ) and will be releasing a [...]

Lovely Little Bunch Of Songs
(The Knocks) As the blogosphere expands and becomes the first port-of-call for many a music lover, the content has gradually improved and improved to become fully fledged big tunes. There was once a time when legally-compliant blogs (like us) has to search the baron desert for decent free content. Now it's a lush green rain forest (if you know where to look). So, today we've got a collection of different songs, all of which are great in their own right and all of which are free downloads. Spark [...]

The Postelles – White Night
I've never been a drug kind of guy. I don't begrudge people who get high; it was just never my thing. And while I don't doubt that the affect it has on people has assisted in the making of some of the more timeless rock records, it always seems to end up in some kind [...]
