If the Dismemberment Plan can do it , The Promise Ring can too. Davey and Dan have a new Maritime CD coming out this fall and they'll spend the rest of the year promoting that but by next summer, the time should be right. (A Promise Ring reunion tour doesn't sound too encouraging based on some comments singer Davey von Bohlen made a few months ago, but who know?)

The lead singer of emo rock pioneers The Promise Ring formed Maritime in 2003 and since then they have churned out some pretty catchy and enjoyable rock tunes. This one is off of their latest Heresy & the Hotel Choir but a little birdy tells me they have a new album on the way sometime at the end of this year.

The set will include all sorts of goodies like 3CDs/3DVDs (including Darkness on the Edge of Town digitally remastered for the first time), two hours of audio, six hours of video, studio and live footage/photographs never released, and an 80-page notebook containing facsimiles from Springsteen's original notebooks from the recording sessions, with alternate lyrics, song ideas, recording details, personal notes, with a new essay by Springsteen. Best tune off Promise Ring's last album and quite the upbeat swan song for a band known for their slower more melodramatic tunes. I waited the band's entire career for this song and it was worth it.
