I got three chords and a f*ck you

I got three chords and a f*ck you Alla fine, se ascolti punkrock et similia in Italia, dal piacentino/parmigiano ti capita di passare spesso.

Perfume Genius – Put Your Back In 2 It

Perfume Genius – Put Your Back In 2 It It's another election year and the country reels once again from the totally puzzling horror of dudes kissing, and so Mike Hadreas' second album as Perfume Genius Put Your Back N 2 It is born under a difficult sign. An artist of deep earnestness and confessional nerve who is gay and writes songs about it, Hadreas collects comparisons based more on his identity than his musical instincts; the Stephin Merritt connection is a particularly red herring. Notorious for his advice to young songwriters ("Don't come out") and general misanthropy, Merritt writes ingenious, wry, deadpan, and evasive songs, their [...]

You're Tripping

You're Tripping Your tripping - The Queers Well it's to the point. And it's a confronting thing, putting this album on for the first time, knowing only the Queers' sweet love songs and hearing this vitriol. It's so direct as well that it's obviously about someone, but these years of wondering have yielded nothing. Some no one nothing not worth mentioning who played in a white power band i guess. It just seems weird, in the anthem it is presented as and came to be, that [...]

Born In A Cent – Far From Perfect (2011)

Born In A Cent – Far From Perfect (2011) Born In A Cent are a Brooklyn/Long Island based political punk band that brings a familiar folk punk sound with their newest EP "Far From Perfect". Featuring ever lovable gang vocals, banjos and some sweet harmonies from brother and sister Adam and Charlene Obernauer, Born In A Cent manages to balance catchy, fun songs with a strong Anarcha-Feminist message. 'With Or Without You" laments the death of the activist spirit that more often than not fades out as we get older, while "Unheard Anthems"Anarchist anthem that will have you pounding at your chest. One of my favorite tracks has [...]

Jeff the Brotherhood – We Are the Champions

Jeff the Brotherhood – We Are the Champions Rating: 4 out of 5 stars Very few duos really seem to pack a punch, the last one I recall that really killed was DFA 1979 , but the latest release from Jeff the Brotherhood is definitely a record that will lightheartedly kick you in the teeth. This is a good thing, as summer needs some rock n' roll, and that is precisely what We Are the Champions gives it listeners. Want to have a good time, then run out the [...]

QUEER: FROM ZERO TO A HUNDRED at Theater For The New City Photos by G. Various Artists. Scooter LaForge What a scene! The opening night gala reception for the art exhibit "QUEER: FROM ZERO TO A HUNDRED" at the Theater for the New City in New York was insanely fun. The exhibit features works from Scooter LaForge, Johnny Rozsa, Aaron Miller, Barnaby Whitfield, Pete Hocking, Julie Smith, Peter J. Ketchum, Ricky Longo-Burrows and Tracy Phillips. The space is enormous, the art is great and the artists are so talented. The Toilet Boys' Miss Guy was spinning tunes all night and [...]

KUMBIA QUEERS

KUMBIA QUEERS Kumbia Queers are an all-lesbian Latin American band that cover punk, New Wave, heavy metal, and pop classics in the style of Columbia's great gift to the musical world, cumbia. They change the lyrics to reflect their interests, e.g.: Madonna's "Isla Bonita" becomes "La Isla con Chicas" ("The Island of Girls") and Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" is now "Chica de Metal," that is: "Metal Girl" (or "Chick"). Punk classics. Cumbia style. With lesbian lyrics. Does it get any better?! Well, it could get a little better. Over the course [...]
