More great stuff from Radio Heartbeat Records , who've already wowed me by re-issuing awesome stuff from Milk n' Cookies, Radio City, 20/20 and Hubble Bubble. The Quick work the intersection between glam, power-pop and punk. Produced by the legendary Kim Fowley (Runaways, Modern Lovers), the record is a high energy, bratty, melodic slice of glittering pop. The Quick - Mondo Deco Radio Heartbeat pull another power pop classic from the clutches of obscurity and reissue it with the proper respect it deserves. Hey looky there, the folks over at KDAF decided Mount Righteous playing Quick's Big Thing awards was a newsworthy event -and we whole-heartidly agree. Check out the footage above. My favorite part is at the end when Roni says she has no idea what a sousaphone is and the other reporter disgustedly tells her to, "look it up" through clinched teeth. Priceless. As you should already know by now, Quick is having an award show celebrating local music 7PM this Friday at the Granada.
