The original members of the 1960's-era blue-eyed sould quartet -- singer Eddie Brigati, Keyboardist Felix Cavaliere, Guitarist Gene Cornish and drummer Dino Danelli -- will reunite for what producers call "a hybrid of a rock 'n' roll concert and a Broadway show." Performances of "The Rascals: Once Upon a Dream" will begin April 15 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre and will last only 15 performances, ending May 5. Finally the "other" half of the Last Shadow Puppets has a solo album about to drop. Miles Kane turned down a chance to join his mates in Arctic Monkeys because he is a front man at heart. His prior band, The Rascals, showed promise a few years ago, but it was the collaboration with Alex Turner that Miles is best known for. He has written sweet pop songs all along, but "First Of My Kind" has a Last Shadow Puppet feel about it. That's a good thing. [...]

It's pretty easy to get a little confused about the particulars of a certain 'blue-eyed soul' group - especially its name. But even if the group started out as the Rascals, then changed to the Young Rascals for a while before eventually changing back to the original, it entertained a lot of fans in the late 1960s with best-sellers like "Good Lovin'," "Groovin'," and "People Got to Be Free."
