Atoms For Peace haben letzte Woche mit "AMOK" ihr Debütalbum veröffentlicht. Ein grandioses Album. Aber nicht nur musikalisch haben es Atoms For Peace drauf - auch merchtechnisch ist die Kombo einen Schritt voraus: Das sogenannte "Zig Zag" Shirt besteht zu Hälfte aus Baumwolle - für die anderen 50% wurden recycelte Plastikflaschen verarbeitet. Recycle Culture conquered blogosphere-fame with some uplifting remixes of The xx, Chromatics, Korallreven and the likes, but his first original work is something quite different. In essence it's him playing the piano mixed with some minor electronics, but to call it just that would be a massive understatement - think a less oriental CFCF or a less twinkly Pantha du Prince. Here's a mystery for you: why don't you hear more about The Recyclers' 1995 album Visit ? Is it because they're French? I wouldn't have thought so, forward-leaning jazz isn't known for its adherence to national boundaries. It's not as if they're a bunch of unknowns, either. Recycled art is a tricky thing to do well. It's hard to turn what most consider trash into treasure. OOO My Design has given it their all with a few different pieces of furniture. Cassettes Not Dead, a nostalgic tribute to now obsolete medium. I do like the fact that you can change the tapes out to your personal ones. But I can't help the fact that when i look at these lamps and chair that I could bust out the same quality myself. Of course I can't.

The Mexican government's environmental agency recently unveiled the  Mercado de Trueque , a market where recyclable materials and trash can be exchanged for fresh food .
