"We love each other. But we hate each other. We're afraid of each other. Because we want to screw each other." I know him as the creator of the ever catchy 60s inspired Apple Pie Bed. You might know him as former member of the Brunettes, the Ruby Sun Band , or touring member of Okkervil River . I was slightly disheartened to learn that James Milne was not actually born a Lawrence Arabia ...I was having [...]

Oh how I hate compiling these lists. They are damn near impossible to sit back thinking 'Yes, that accurately represents my tastes'. You just can't do it! For starters, how do you compare an awesome live show with a solid album? Does it count if I got into an album this year that was released last year? I can barely remember back to the start of the year, let alone try to piece together which bands had the biggest impact! And so the list comes to you with so many faults. Missing bands, strange orderings and plenty of bias. You [...]

Another Sydney band which has me quite excited at the moment is theredsunband. I never really got into them around the release of their last album (Peapod), but listening back, I can't any good reason see why. Perhaps the punctuation of their name annoyed me. Whatever the case, the album is quite enjoyable and definitely worth a listen if you can still find it. Sleep Forever However, it's their new stuff that is grabbing me on a whole new level. It all began at the Laneway Festival, when I decided to end [...]

Is smattering even a word? Who cares. Here's some music by a bunch of Sydney bands that have been on my mind lately: Telephone - Cuthbert & The Night Walkers I can't believe I haven't gotten around to talking about Cuthbert & The Night Walkers yet. They're so cool! You may be thinking that because they have 5-piece choir, they are somehow a gimmick. It couldn't be further from the truth. Underneath the choir is an incredibly solid band, with [...]

This picture rocks. Thank you, dear visitors, for not insisting on long expositions. You don't know how much that means to me. To tell you would require a long exposition, which we do not want. So what shall we do? Maybe. . .some music?
