Australia's been on a hot streak of talent export as of late. Its newest product - house producer Light Year and his track "Moderation" - is no exception. Initially released on the famous Bang Gang 123, "Moderation" is a brooding track with an incredible bassline and dirty synths. The whole dF office has been infatuated with this one for the past couple of months, but our obsession hit a new level upon watching the video. It's a weird one, but the VHS rave footage fits just nicely with the track. If you like what you see/hear, [...]

Now when I first saw "Levels (In Reverse)" , I couldn't believe it, and expected a jumbled mess. Then I listened to it , and heard an incredibly unique sounding new version of Levels, in reverse. It sounds wild, but works very well. George Monev did an insane job, I'm assuming it was a litle more then simply clicking the "Reverse" button. Well sit back, listen to the one of the most popular tracks, in a wild new sounding way. Also stay tuned for the Snow Ball 2012 mixtape coming out tomorrow morning! Enjoy! Avicii - [...]

We all know the definition of a palindrome, forward or backwards, these things just go both ways. Maybe it's the Swedish in him, but apparently Avicii's production works the same way. Discovered and perfected by George Monev , the continuously played 'Levels' is a club anthem even when in rewind. As sad as we are to having to bring out the played out track that led to a Bud Light ad , you have to hear this one. You make the decision, check it out. [...]

The now solo Light Year has stepped forth with the new brash 'Moderation' EP including the riveting b-side "Reversion". Transmitting some deep and dark vibes - "Moderation" and "Reversion" stumble forward in a frowned future-garage hits 808 acid bender, the kind when your stacking tabs like jenga! That's right fools, it's Monday, you're up early for work, you already want to go home and Friday is no where in sight. You went from cold beers at a beach to hot coffee in a cubicle, it's the roughest of times indeed. But cheer up old chap!, we've got the antidote for anything remotely lame so say hello to the anti-work, anti-monday experience - Ryan Radler's S U M M E R : a n t i – w i n t e r 1 b. Last week we introduced you to Radler's fine wine of a [...]

Foundwaves' favorite Reverse played at TT's last week. Listen to "Fluorescent" while you check out some photos from the show. And while you're at it, go and reread what Foundwaves wrote about the band back in April and then buy a copy of their record from iTunes or CDBaby . Reverse - Fluorescent Photos by Johnny Tang [...]

As much as Foundwaves might like some of the skinny-jean-wearing, skinny-moustache-coiffing, skinny-hipster-fronted music that is dominating the indie airwaves right now, it's great to find a band that unselfconsciously and unapologetically kicks ass. Reverse does just that. The Boston rock veterans left a big space between their debut record, Jersey Switch , in 2002 and their 2009 release of Monkey Mind , but fortunately the hiatus from recording didn't do anything to dampen this power trio's ferocity. (Leave a comment below for a chance to win a copy of Monkey Mind). On the title track, [...]
Yesterday, T-Pain released the video for his single "Reverse Cowgirl." Now, we hopped off the T-Pain bandwagon long before it was stated to do so; we do not need anyone dictating when something is cool or not. BUT after this song was released it was like 2006 all over again because this song is so incredible CATCHY. From the emphatic beats to the reverse sound effects T-Pain is keeping autotune alive, for now. As for the video, it's an entire collection of nice visuals. There is no storyline just a string of effects that complement the song so [...]

the second ep in the trilogy, the most exciting thing for me about the recording of this (apart from the songs themselves) was using my new hartke bass stack. i miss it. also, we were recording in a studio/rehearsal complex that had an inhouse chef who made the most amazing sandwiches. i think you can hear the joy of those sandwiches in the recording. i should mention that like most of the other stuff, this was engineered and produced by graham dominy, a really top bloke whose enthusiasm and support was endlessly validated for a band who constantly [...]

being a huge fan of early 90s indie (ride, moose, chapterhouse etc.), the ep format has always made a lot of sense to me - not as throwaway as single, not as heavyweight as an album. and releasing a trilogy of eps before an album always felt like the right thing to do. hence, "a clean incision" was our first ep and the first release on proper grown-up cds, not cdrs - and the first release on my new label, run out. it was recorded at the crypt, still in crouch end, north london, and in fact the [...]

i got my chronology wrong in my last post - this was actually the first proper release, but was all recorded after the "dead messages" stuff. the ep was our first attempt at putting together some kind of coherent record, rather than just recording songs as the fancy took us. again it was recorded during studio downtime at the church - hence the title. plus none of it sounds particularly "up". see we're pretty deep guys. also, we were going through a pretty big radiohead phase at the time, which is particularly obvious on "falling behind". [...]

okay, this is going to be the first of a series of vanity posts: the reverse is/was my old band and i'm going to post up basically everything we released while i was a member - better to give it away and have people actually hear it than leave the songs festering on hard drives and in boxes... "dead messages" was our first "proper" release, though it being in an edition of only 50 cdrs it was hardly going to bother the shelf stackers at hmv. it basically collected various recordings we'd made between 2000 and 2002, all [...]
![Bon Jovi Can Write A Book [The Rich Get Richer]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1568189_lg.jpg)
Surprisingly, the New Jersey band's book deal isn't for a collection of poetry entitled You Lost More Than That In My Backseat, Baby: Reflections In Verse , but a 25th-anniversary celebration that will tell "the behind-the-scenes story" of the band, and that will be released in conjunction with a documentary. Yes, Bon Jovi 's self-titled debut album came out in the wee days of 1984. Doesn't it seem like they've been around longer than that? They're a fixed object, like a star or a war memorial or something. (Plus I could have sworn that my friend had her [...]

Scandalous parisian writer and good friend Antoine Buffard a.k.a. source de calcium got interviewed by the genevan heathen and asked to do a best of 2008 fairtilizer playlist. He's heavily giving us props in it, as Bsbtrgdclub and as le mothership . Thanks a very lot, yo. What's the story behind the Sourcedecalcium blog, how did it start? Behind Source de Calcium, there's a lot [...]
![Looks Like Chris Cornell Didn't Get Offered The Led Zeppelin Fill-In Gig [Reversals]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1345653_lg.jpg)
Last month, the former Soundgarden wailer Chris Cornell was making noise about maybe being invited to tour with the sorta-reformed Led Zeppelin, but judging by this quote, he apparently just wanted to be invited for the sole purpose of turning Page, Jones, and Bonham down: "It just doesn't make any sense to me at all. I would not want to go see me performing Led Zeppelin songs with the two other guys that used to be in a band called Led Zeppelin while Robert Plant is out somewhere touring. That's not a ticket I would buy. God bless 'em, but [...]

okay let's start with some full disclosure: i used to play bass in nat the hammer 's fulltime band, the reverse . it was a fairly major part of my life for a good 7 years. so i'm not going to be entirely unbalanced here. however, the whole reason i joined the band was nathan's voice and songwriting, and that's exactly what his nat the hammer guise is all about. so what we have here are 5 examples of this stripped down to the basic components and recorded at home. with the full band [...]

it's suddenly got chilly here, which means i can finally shed the shorts and t-shirts and start layering up. right now i'm wrapped up in a thick jumper. i like winter clothes. they remind me of long walks in the country, gloves on and breath steaming; equally long waits at bus stops in the cold; warm pubs with warm bitter; dark monday mornings struggling into work. in my curent nostalgiac frame of mind, i miss all of these things equally. this onset of autumn requires a mix to celebrate. some bands immediately lend themselves to this topic (i'm [...]

It's another one of those singles again. Just like Theale For Africa , Autopop and Freeboy , I discovered this band in a charity shop. Punk fans will be pleased with this one. I know New Fast Automatic Daffodils aren't what regular readers are used to, but we're in the process of embracing musical diversity. However, punk listeners have no fear, because I'm back with a blasting double A-side single from Stoke-on-Trent punk band Reverse. Seeing as I found this single in Oxfam and the internet yet again fails me [...]
